To fight or not to fight...

The bad guys finished last once again, I suppose. Because they wanted a horse really bad, the bad guys not only kidnapped it from the Indian tribe, but kidnapped the chief's son along with it! They also show another Indian who went back to tell the tribe.

Unfortunately, even The Lone Ranger has only so much power, and his power was almost not enough to save the innocents in this episode!

These old shows are such classics! It's nice to watch them and see just how far television has come. I personally prefer the earlier stuff (and I'm only 40, so I didn't grow up with these) over things made today. They may be a bit corny, but they are clean...

What Him Name?

Black Cloud is a famous war owned by Chief Lame Bear. A St Louis Wild West show operator offers hide hunter Matt Madrigo $5000 to buy the horse from Lame Bear for another $5000. But scummy Madrigo plans to steal the war horse and keep all the money for himself and his henchmen. The Ranger and Tonto warn him to stay off Indian land but Madrigo pays no attention. They steal the war horse and kidnap the chief's son as a hostage. It looks like a big Indian war is in the offing. The Ranger and Tonto try to get help from the cavalry but the lieutenant who talks to Madrigo gets completely bamboozled. It will be up the Ranger and Tonto to recover the stolen horse, capture Madrigo and his men, and stop an Indian war. That's a tall order, even for the Masked Rider of the Plains! Lame Bear (Chief Yowlatchie) becomes the first Indian to ask the famous question, "What him name?"

Warning: Spoilers
Chief Lame Bear owns the famous war horse Black Cloud.

A wealthy wild west showman wants to buy Black Cloud. He instructs hide hunter Matt Madrigo to offer the Chief $5000 for the horse.

If Madrigo delivers the horse, he will also get $5000.

Madrigo plans to steal Black Cloud and keep $10,000.

Only for The Lone Ranger and Tonto to spot Madrigo and his men trespassing in Indian land. They figure he is up to something.

Chief Lame Bear is mad when he finds out that not only his horse has been stolen but also his son has been taken away. He declares war with the white man.

The Lone Ranger needs to rescue Tonto, Chief Lame Bear's horse and son. As well as come to the aid of the soldiers under attack by the Indians.

It is noticeable that at the end it is Chief Lame Bear who gets a stern talking to by the army brass for not causing any more trouble in the future. Like he kidnapped his son and horse himself!
