Unlike the average TV comedy, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" had far fewer teething problems. In other words, most comedies take at least a half dozen or more episodes until the show starts to hit its stride...but this isn't the case with this show. Only four episodes in and it produced yet another classic, as "Divorce Isn't Everything" is simply terrific.
Murray is looking for a short story that can be tacked on to the end of the broadcast. He finds out about a club called 'The Better Luck Next Time Club'...a club for divorced folks. Later, Mary mentions this to Rhoda, and Rhoda suggests they go to a meeting. At first, Mary refuses but Rhoda tells her that the club is planning on chartering a flight to Paris...and it will be cheap!
When the go to the club, the members they meet are all a bunch of basket cases...at best! While normally Mary might just not go to any more meetings, she is elected the club's vice president! What is she to do next?
The writing just popped here...with lots of laughs, interesting characters and a lot of fun. Well worth seeing and one not to miss.
