IMF team misses the deadline
CCsito28 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILER ALERT*

This episode was directed by Peter Graves and involves Phelps being kidnapped by a group of mobsters who want the IMF group to steal an incriminating letter in a safe deposit box before Phelps can be released. The letter is in the possession of another mobster who is trying to use it to avoid prosecution. The other mobsters give the IMF team until 4:30 to give them the letter or have Phelps killed. Casey has to get access to the bank safe deposit box vault where she makes a copy of a key in order to open the mobster's box. She is able to get the original key by being in a stalled elevator with the mobster and pickpocketing the key from his coat so Willy can duplicate it. The mission seems to be going well until another group of mobsters monitor Casey's workings in the bank and when she is able to get the letter at 3:00, then they steal it from her. As the deadline has passed without the letter, Barney then has to come up with an alternative plan to create a fake letter copy by making one based on Casey's recollections. They try to dupe the mobsters holding Phelps with the fake letter so they can see where Phelps is being held. At the same time, the other mobsters with the letter arrive and try to claim the ransom against the other mobsters. They are all inside the underground room where Phelps is being held and mobsters with the letter then decide to kill off some of the witnesses. Casey then screams as Phelps is the intended first target, but he has managed to get himself free from his binded wrists and sets off an explosion inside the room. The IMF team subdues all of the mobsters and locks them up in the room. Lynda Day George (Casey) only appeared in about 1/2 of the missions in the final season. In this mission, she played an active part and did not appear to be noticeably pregnant, so perhaps this episode was one of the earlier filmed ones?
