Another Time Capsule Episode for 1972
kgraovac3 November 2023
This is another of those early '70s TV episodes that deal with the fallout of the Vietnam war. Pretty topical stuff for the time, although anyone under 50 watching today definitely won't "get it".

Classic TV fans will surely recognize the gaggle of character actors in this one. At first, I thought the female character who slaps Julie was a young Lainie Kazan -- but it's actually Annette Cardona -- years before she played Cha-Cha in GREASE.

Robert Pine is interesting as the All American, proud, second-generation cop who isn't as clean as he seems. Watching Julie's attitude toward him change shows off some of Peggy's subtle acting ability.

The shoot-out at the finale features some dated but unique editing techniques to drive home the point of the episode.
