Love and Family
JordanThomasHall26 May 2017
Mr. Thatcher (familiar character actor Don Beddoe) brings the mail to the Everett household. Butch (Trent Lehman) receives a greeting card salesman kit and goes right to work on the postman. As Butch and his older brother Hal (David Doremus) fight over a foreign letter written to Nanny (Juliet Mills) the wind mysteriously takes it right to her upstairs bedroom window. The letter makes her cry. Prudence (Kim Richards) buys a "Congratulations on your Bah Mitzvah" card from Butch to give to Nanny and cheer her up. She replaces those words with "love" and "family" and draws a picture for her. Their father (Richard Long) tells them to respect her privacy, but show her how much they care, to take her mind off her burden. Butch sees Nanny mail a letter addressed to the family. They are saddened to think she may be leaving. The kids try and help her, but creates a series of mishaps. Have they shown Nanny enough to stay? What is in the letter she mailed? This is the first episode where Kim Richard's Prudence (now a little bit older) has a number of lines and she's quite funny. Perhaps she will become the touch of comedy this series needs as it enters the second season.
