Marrisa: I love you Ryan: Thank you
aura7729 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
It's New Year's and "love" is in the air. Kirsten's sister, Hailey Nichol returns home, and throws a party. Oliver casts his spell. Sandy and Kirsten find themselves in a rut, and out of their environment. Seth finally makes a decision between Summer and Anna. 2004 is born. Marissa and Ryan have some difficulties in expressing their feelings.

In this episode, we are introduced to Hailey, she didn't really seemed to be a good character, but she's one of the cutest in the show.

Seth chooses Anna, and that's mostly because she came to him. Samaire Armstrong is a really fun actress, (except her hair) bu her character is annoying at times.

The Countdown (#1.14)
ComedyFan20106 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Its is New Years night and all the characters end up at parties. Kirsten's sister Hailey comes over, sends Kirsten and Sandy to a swingers party and throws a big one at their place. Seth and Ryan want to stop her but she locks them in the pool house only later needs their help to end it. And then Ryan runs to the party Marissa is at to return "i love you" to her. And Anna comes to Seth.

Well the whole "i love you" thing was pretty boring and cliché including Ryan making it to Marissa in the last second. This was like the worst part of the episode.

It was kind of funny to see Kirsten and Sandy at a swingers party but it was pretty clear how it will end. I liked Hailey and Kirsten annoyed me telling her to grow up. Hey, if she loves her boring life maybe Hailey loves her fun life too.

The best thing was to see Anna and Seth together. They would be the best couple on the show. Hopefully 2004 is good for them.

She says "i love you" but . . .
jknousak27 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Doesn't know what "love" is/means. Love is verb, it means to do for, to sacrifice for, to compromise.

Here, Ryan is asking her to spend a quiet night w/ him. And she wants to party, to "help" Oliver, to "show Ryan up" because he didn't say the WORDS in return. For Marissa, it's "words" of "love", for Ryan it's ACTIONS/behavior of love. And he's shown it time and time again and Marissa . . . Is clueless.

The couple is doomed . . . And many of us out here have and had rooted for Ryan's success -- in Life and Love and Work. Indeed.
