The chapters where Lieutenant Ponce appears (9 out of 45) are the best. Despite being rivals, there is very good chemistry with Petrocelli, and very funny chapters come out. They will finally end up being friends.-
The reason for the estrangement of Renata (that is the name of the accused's murderous wife) from her husband (Billy) was his lack of character to impose himself on his father, Colonel Fletcher.
Petrocelli discovers that she was in a partnership with Oslow because the photos she took of her were from a week ago, and not several years ago in Germany as Renata told her husband. He knew this because the film that contains them only began to be made very recently.
The ending is predictable: The blackmail is discovered, Renata is guilty of killing Onslow due to disagreements over how to divide the loot, and Billy puts a definitive limit on his father by resigning from the family business.
