This Rawhide story has the Gil Favor trail herd meet up with a group of farmers
led by David Brian who have dug a lot of large holes in an effort to find an
underground spring for irrigation. Giving up they ask for protection of the
cattle drive to move out. But instead they help themselves to the reymuda and
the drovers are left without horses.
At the same time Clint Eastwood has kind of taken an interest in Jean Allison who is Brian's daughter. Who just wants to get out of the valley is Brian's wife and Allison's stepmother Patricia Medina.
This Rawhide story kind of went off the deep end itself with Medina's portrayal of the wicked stepmother. Snow White's Maleficent has nothing on this crazy woman. It was so extreme as she ceases being any kind of believable.
