Joanna Moore and Edward Kemmer

"Lady of Quality" guest stars Joanna Moore, three years before the birth of daughter Tatum O'Neal, as widow Barbara Dyer, grieving for her husband Richard, recently murdered along with two other men by renegade buffalo hunters Packer (Bart Burns) and Logan (Joe Breen). Johnny Yuma finds her among elaborate furnishings in a broad outdoor setting, seated at the organ, until she sees Yuma and mistakes him for her late husband. Johnny plays along and learns of the tragedy, finding an empty cartridge that proves that the killers were buffalo hunters. Driving her into town to see Dr. Curtis (Edward Kemmer), the diagnosis is nothing wrong physically, only a precarious mental state. Yuma knows that the killers are somewhere in town, and uses the widow to bring them out into the open. They do indeed panic, but miss shooting her through an open window, the final showdown taking place in the local saloon, where Barbara recognizes the voice of the culprit. Edward Kemmer would return for two more episodes, "The Champ" and "The Hostage."
