A good time waster, but not more.

That's one of the earliest Dick Sarafian stuff did in his tremendous career. A gangster accidentally kills his wife and our female recurrent lead is witness of the unwanted murder. But the involuntary lover assassin is on the spot. That scheme doesn't make it a crime story, rather a simple drama that, I guess, could not have been suitable for the big screen. The directing is good, however, with some light touch, so far from a purely true noir atmosphere, as we could see in several episodes of this show. No that's not the best of the series, whatever I will see in the future and which I will comment. And don't forgot what I recently said about this show, roaring 20's doesn't automatically means gangster atmosphere in each episode. In this one, you have only a little of this. Certainly not the whole. For vintage gem diggers only.
