It's the Roper's 23rd wedding anniversary. Helen gifts Stanley a pipe and tobacco. From the back of a van, Stanley buys Helen an antique mantle clock that she treasures. The Brookes' return home from a trip to find they've been robbed. Among the missing items is a wedding present from Jeffrey's mother- an antique mantle clock. Helen cringes in misery as the Brookes mentions the missing clock. She tries to hide the clock from the policeman investigating the case, Officer McNab (Joey Forman, "Get Smart"). While Stanley hides it from insurance investigator Charles Remington (Sam McMurray). The truth may be costly for Stanley.
