Helen is disappointed that no one showed up to her brunch, except Anne. 40 invitations were sent out, but Mrs. Clifford, wife of Councilman Clifford, had her brunch at the same time. The Ropers' former tenant Larry (Richard Kline, "Three's Company") drops in after delivering a used car to someone in the area. He catches them up to date with Jack, Janet, and Crissy. Stanley confides in Larry that Helen isn't happy there, having no friends. Anne tells Helen that her brunch was unfortunately timed with Mrs. Clifford's, which makes her feel better. Meanwhile, Stanley talks with Jeffrey about moving, and he excitedly arranges for others to view the apartment. When Stanley tries to hide a couple looking over the apartment, Helen walks in to think it's neighbors finally dropping in. Their questions lead to hysterical reactions from an offended Helen, with comical complications.
