Funny bunch of unconnected sketches
Jimmy_the_Gent422 September 2018
No story line here, but a lot of funny sketches.

The 5 Neat Guys have a commercial of some of their hits like "Mom Pressed A Crease In My Chinos". Another commercial is Emergency Caterers in which a cocktail party is out of food so the caterers come in an ambulance and stuff twinkies in the party goers mouths.

There is a sketch with Walter Cronkite discussing his brain with David Brinkley, it turns into a Superman spoof with baby Walter being sent to Earth from Krypton. Prini Scleroso shows up in a headache commercial and later in Pepsi challenge and dish washing liquid ads.

Count Floyd hosts "Slinky...Toy From Hell". John Candy appears in Small Town Dick about a private eye in a town so small everybody knows what case he is working on.

A very funny Movie Of The Week is "Gangway For Miracles" a parody of "The Miracle Worker" with Edith Prickley as Annie Sullivan. Catherine O'Hara plays Mad Dog, her violent and wild student. In the end she ends up talking just like Edith. Great White North has Bob talking about carpets while Doug eats a sandwich.

Merv Griffin has a flashback show to the 1960s. He plays songs on his piano like Mellow Yellow and All Along The Watchtower. He also plays Jack Nicholson's role in Easy Rider with Flaherty as Peter Fonda and Thomas as Dennis Hopper.

A very funny sketch is called Pre Teen World, which satirizes shows at that time which featured young pre teen kids hosting their own show. O'Hara plays super confident Alexis and Candy as nervous Stefan. Other awkward characters are Andrea Martin as Cathy with a mouthful of braces. The kids have a segment called Rock Rap where they interview the musical guest, an "underground" rock group called Rough Trade. After the kids ask them some awkward questions ( Do you know Art Garfunkel?") the group performs a weird and suggestive song called "High School Confidential".

Dave does a commercial for an early computer program which gives you whatever type of comedy show you want. Next is a funny game show called Steeplechase. The categories seem easy but the questions are incredibly difficult.

Dr Tongue and Woody Tobias Jr (the name of the actor who plays hunchbacked Bruno) offer acting tips while doing the usual 3D effects. Last scene is Gerry Todd talking about how he met his wife through video dating.
