Why don't I have a flash freezer?

"Scarecrow and Mrs. King" at its best.

Posing as brother and sister, Lee and Amanda go undercover at a convocation of promising fast-food franchisees to figure out a mysterious message Lee received of mass murder through hamburgers.

No, this episode isn't an indictment of fast food, which is a refreshing change. And the whole hamburger franchise is so silly, especially with its typical jingle and the statue of a hamburger with eyes and legs, it's thoroughly enjoyable. If I find one fault with "S&MK" it's that it often isn't wacky enough. You'd think with the strangeness undercover work entails and the off-beat people it draws, it could be a lot crazier.

One thing this hamburger company has is a "flash-freezer." I have microwaves to heat things up fast. Forty years after this episode aired how come I don't have a flash-freezer?

There's also a segment of welcome bonding between Francine and Amanda. Francine is usually *so* resentful of Amanda she's cute. It's impossible to hate her. But it's nice to see her capable of being nice to Amanda occasionally.

And there's Pamela Susan Schoop, an actress who bounced around 1980s TV shows. I always like to see her.

Warning: this episode will make you hungry. Eat first.
