Perfect casting putting Vincent Price and Jonathan Harris from "Lost in Space', together, seven years before the Robinsons and an imposter and a robot ended up soaring through the universe, unable to get back to earth. Here, both Price and Harris are Frenchmen, with Price having accepted the hospitality of the titled Mr. Smith, having been confused for Harris at the train station. John McGiver and Valarie French are Mr. And Mr. Smith, and it's a different type of performance for McGiver who plays Smith as if he's sleeping while standing. The light-hearted atmosphere is made tense when Price is exposed, and the result is a beautifully staged comedy of errors and manners.
