Bite of a Tiger
Prismark1030 July 2020
Michael Hayes is the newly elected District Attorney who vows to drain the swamp. In his sights are bigwigs who have grown fat on government contracts and pulling the levers of political power.

They see Hayes as a tiger whose roar is louder than his bite. Jack Flood finds him enthusiastic and clean of any blemish.

Paul Marino reckons that Hayes is green and his enemies will use other means to get to him The weak link is his father Governor Hayes who has done deals with these crooks in the past.

Michael Hayes finds out that an assistant he appointed has been killed and he might have to come face to face with his father's past.

The story is told in a dry way with it being mostly interior scenes. There is no denying the power of the story. It is almost like a stage play and it is still relevant.

Interesting story, a little slow.

Michael Hayes aims to be a squeaky clean District Attorney, routing out all of those that have been corrupt, and had their hands in the till, the double is that this closest to him have been guilty of being on the take.

It's the first episode I've struggled a little with, not because of the story, which is really rather good, but the pacing, I found this one a little too slow, it takes a little too long to move out of second gear.

Michael is perhaps a little too much, whiter than white, a little too naive, hard to imagine someone in that position blaming every single citizen. I did enjoy that moment where Michael's eyes are opened up to his father's goings on.

It is an interesting story of dog eat dog, you get to see exactly how the merry go round of politics works, it's all about back scratching and favours, when someone wants to change the order of things, they face an uphill battle, especially when the status quo has been in place for so long.

6/10.

Another tale of corruption
searchanddestroy-123 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Interesting tale this one speaking of a young district attorney who, after been elected and supported by rotten politicians, claim that he will clean the whole city administration of all his dirt. Not a meaning action flick for sure, but rewarding for those who'll watch it. Ed Begley plays here a rotten politician, a governor, a perfect character for him who was so used to such plays. The men who put the Young and ambitious man to DA status suddenly realize their error and will stop at nothing to put the young man on the "right" way... How far will this latest succeed in what he wanted to drive at? A brilliant politics expose.

Directed by John Newland, a prolific TV director.
