Diane Brewster: Bea Dressen

Quotes

  • Bea Dressen : I still don't see what you have to gain by being so obliging.

Cooper Smith : Maybe I'm thinking that between here and California, we could make a deal. A little share of that money will be better than a bullet in the back.

Bea Dressen : Mister, I don't believe you'd take a dollar of it.

Cooper Smith : I said it'd be better than a bullet in the back.

Bea Dressen : He'd kill everyone of us if he could.

Lee Barton : Yeah, his partner is still on his mind. But he'd be stupid not to prefer a few dollars in his hand than a bullet in his head.

Bea Dressen : Which he is getting?

Lee Barton : Do we have a choice?

  • Bea Dressen : After what we've been through, ain't none of us is working any place we don't want to work. If the money we've got, can't give each of us what we're looking for, we may as well give up now.

  • Bea Dressen : [laughing hysterically]  The end of Echo pass. He said he'd take us to the end.

    [she gives another empty laugh]

Bea Dressen : He didn't lie. There's water in here but we can't get to it. It's just everything he promised.

Lee Barton : I'm giving him everything I promised.

  • Bea Dressen : [More hysterical, almost controlled empty laughter]  How many times do you expect us to buy a pig in a poke?

  • Vera : But he needs some help over places.

Lee Barton : Josh, you might as well get used to making it on your own.

Clyde : What does that mean?

Paul : Well, it means, we don't have to stay here rotting 'cos you can't keep up.

Vera : When Reis got shot, you didn't just cut him off.

Bea Dressen : We had horses then.

Paul : You got the right to stay here if you want. It's real sisterly love, isn't it?

Lee Barton : That's enough. Let's get on.

Clyde : You leaving me? And without water?

Lee Barton : Let's move out.

Vera : Maybe you can catch up, Josh.

    Clyde , Paul : You're leaving me.

    [he cocks his gun]

Clyde , Paul : Water, I gotta have water. And my share of the money. I can see you leaving me. But I want my share of the water and my money.
