This episode is devoted to the growing reputation of James Butler Hickok getting
more and more known as Wild Bill. While on a run for the Pony Express someone
picks a fight with Josh Brolin and they step outside with the other guy having a
backshooter for backup.
Unfortunately a woman runs into Brolin's line of fire and he begins questioning himself. That soon gives way to some dissolute behavior and all that with a reporter doing a feature story on the Pony Express.
Later on when he was marshal of Abilene a similar incident caused Hickok to give up law enforcement as a career.
