Brian Glover guest stars as Oggie Buttercluff insurance salesman and puts it about a bit with a certain lady. What a name for a character and what a guy Glover was. Ex teacher, ex wrestler and renowned Tetley tea drinker. You always assumed he appeared in the programme but this was his first appearance.
Foggy finds a mattress dumped in the countryside and is infuriated and plans with the trio to take it away but Compo nearly gets runs over by a speeding Oggie. He sold Compo's mam life insurance but she still died. Oggie replied she was never up to date with her payments.
After getting into aggro with a cyclist who punctures Oggie'e car tyre they need to get it fixed and go to the cafe where they meet Crusher. He is Ivy's nephew and is the new assistant, he is a big lad but a bit dim. Ivy is not too impressed with a flat tyre lying on her counter.
However things go awry when they put the mattress on Oggie's car and use that to transport it away.
A great cameo from Glover, a fully rounded character, an appearance by ace stuntman Derek Ware as the irate cyclist and another scene stealing performance from Wally Batty.
