Hillary's uncle has passed away and her lawyer Claude Melonhead (Sid Fields) meets with her to read the will. As the sole heir, two witnesses must be present at the reading, and Bud and Lou come. Hillary is left his castle in Goblin's Knob and its contents, on the condition she spends the night of the reading of the will in the castle. If she fails to spend the entire night there, the estate shall become the property of the trustee, Mr. Melonhead. Hillary says the castle has been haunted for 20 years, but reluctantly is talked into it with Bud and Lou staying with her. At the castle, Lou is the only one to hear sounds and becomes terrified. Hillary secretly shows Bud and Lou a map her uncle gave her showing the location inside the castle of his gold, unknown to anyone else. While reading the map, Lou begins seeing the candle move, but can't seem to get anyone else to, in their classic "Moving Candle" routine. They continue searching for the gold.

This is, in many ways, a different take and shortened version of "Hold That Ghost".

Sid Fields now plays Mr. "Melonhead", a lawyer who is presiding over the estate of Hillary's late uncle. It seems the old man left her a castle(!) provided she spends the night there! Yes, it's haunted! OMG! By the way, Melonhead gets the place if she refuses! Bud and Lou naturally step in to help Hillary --ghosts or not! This brings back memories of A & C's classic spooker HOLD THAT GHOST (1941) as Lou revamps his moving candle routine with Hillary. In the film, hilarious Joan Davis did the scene with Lou, and its a shame the boys didn't get Davis on the tv show! Also in the castle is a gorilla on the loose and baldy Bobby Barber pops out of a grandfather's clock! When its all over, Bud suggests Lou advertise as a haunted house sitter! Watch for Joe Besser as Stinky, the mean little kid in the opening. Be sure to get the dvd box set. From Season One.
