McNamara Needs To Learn More....
hwy5052 July 2006
McNamara states that while making the movie "Copycat" he was convinced of Holly Hunters' portrayal as a police officer when she "Counter-Levered" her weapon (Shooting sideways) in his opinion was "Correct". Mr. McNamara needs to do his homework a little better - if Ms. Hunters character was a gang-member that would be correct - but those of us familiar with the use of firearms, and those of us who are actually police officers (Retired NYPD here) knows that "Counter-levering a weapon that has a slide will present more of a problem jamming the firearm. His comment was of an uninformed individual - he may want to change his technical background coach.

Outside of that ill-informed information by McNamara the show itself is interesting in the mindset of making police cinema. Due to the showing of McNamara's comment shows that the producer didn't do his homework either.
