Warning: Spoilers
There is a good view of the Yorkshire Dales at the beginning of the episode.

Roy Clarke also emulates the popular Levis jeans adverts of the era as the incidental tune riffs Marvin Gaye's I heard it through the grapevine. Thankfully Compo is not sitting in the launderette stark naked.

Compo decides to poke fun on Seymour and Clegg by pretending to fall into the river, only to later fall in for real.

When a metallic piece emerges from Compo's pocket, Seymour thinks it is something from a valuable Georgian silver candlestick. Naturally Seymour gets Wesley to build a contraption to see if there is more silver items in the riverbed.

The surprising thing is that an inventor like Seymour could not identify a common plumbing item.
