What you could call getting the wrong end of the stick.
Sleepin_Dragon9 October 2017
Clare has a new boyfriend, Julian, but she's worried she's not intelligent enough for him as he comes from a family of intellectuals. To compensate Clare reads up on Schopenhauer, not to be outdone so does Eleanor. Julian visits for dinner, all doesn't go to plan as he feels intellectually inferior.

A young, fresh faced Stephen Tompkins is fun as Julian, he's definitely an idiot, but somehow likable, he allows Clare to be a little more interesting as a character. It's nice to see her more centre stage as it were.

This is a cleverly written episode, a case of judging a book by its cover and getting it hopelessly wrong. It contains a few laughs, Joan Sanderson as always stealing the show. 7/10
