A very successful third series concludes with Last Chances, the ups and downs of romantic goings on come to a head for Sarah and Clare. Sarah gets a proposition from Sam, Clare gets some welcome new from Edward.
I wonder if there was any consideration that this could have been the last episode, it does seem to have an end of show feel. It is very enjoyable, it's not loaded with laughs, but it does conclude the series well. Eleanor is up to her old tricks, eavesdropping behind the curtains, and gossipping any news to Vera Polling. Prunella Scales shows her true class here, Sarah shows true anger and true sadness, I always thought this was her finest episode.
For me, Series three was the high point, it would return for one final run, but I don't think it got better then this. 8/10
