This is the third episode of season 5 of The Last Detective, and also the third last episode of the whole series sadly. The first three seasons each had four episodes, and season five had five episodes.
Here Dangerous investigates the murder of a stand-up comedian, who died on stage after drinking a glass of wine as part of his act with his comedy partner. It turns out the fatally poisoned comedian had several girlfriends on the go, one them played by Barbara Thorn, who was exemplary as Rita "Coop" Cooper, the trusty secretary to Judge John Deed in the series Judge Deed.
Mod has settled well in his house share with Dangerous and Julie, and their cute St Bernard wasn't feeling well. Poor dog.
I like the London atmosphere of The Last Detective...the gray skies, the shoulder-to-shoulder housing, the rain. Pub scenes abound in The Last Detective.
