Jumping on the Elvis documentary bandwagon, ELVIS:THE JOURNEY, takes a look at the development of a meteoric talent that burst into a supernova. From humble beginnings to American royalty. In-dept look that is not exactly fresh, it seems most is taken from the documentary ELVIS:THE MISSING YEARS(2001). The narration seems very rushed and not very enthusiastic. The typical Elvis story... Sun Records; breakthrough year of 1956; military service; travelogue movies; 1968 comeback; the Vegas years; tedious tours; and the early death of a King. Archival footage is the primary source and actually a good introduction for an un-Elvis-educated generation.
