An episode full of Egyptian references and with many small mysteries... Warning: Spoilers
AN EPISODE FULL OF Egyptian REFERENCES AND MANY SMALL MYSTERIES THAT

MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I believe that this episode and many others are interesting not because of what is clear about them, but because of what is not clear. But first things first: with "Dimension Doom" we have an episode full of great references to Egyptian culture. When Mumm-Ra tells the story of his battle with Wizz-Ra (the sorcerer that appears in Cheetara's dreams) they are both clearly in an Egyptian or an Egypt-like landscape, we even have a Sphinx and Wizz-Ra's clothes are clearly Egyptian too.

Wizz-Ra is a sorcerer whose helmet allows him to control minds and that is the power that Mumm-Ra covets in this episode . Wizz-Ra is able of leaving his imprisonment in the 7th dimension only during one day every 7000 years, and according to this episode the 7th dimension touches Third Earth exactly where the Cat's Lair is built, being Cheetara's mirror a portal between the two dimensions.

At the end of the episode we see that Wizz-Ra and the Thundercats defeat Mumm-Ra even when in theory, the day is already over, nevertheless, Wizz-Ra still was around for a while before leaving for his dimension. Another interesting puzzle is why, when Wizz-Ra is attacked by Wilykat and Wilykit who are under the control of the helmet at that time, Wizz-Ra defeats them by transforming the ropes they are holding him with into chains (who are normally stronger).In the scene we see Wilykit releasing the rope-chain like frightened. In my opinion, she releases the chain because it makes her realize that they are slaves to Mumm-Ra in that moment and feels annoyed because of it.

Talking about the puzzle of why Wizz-Ra does not disappear at the moment that in theory the day is already over (marked by a beam of light that shifts from one eye to another of a statue in Mumm-Ra's chambers) one simple explanation could be that Mumm-Ra did not measure the day accurately and was too overconfident as to leave the helmet immediately when he thought he had won the battle. The most possible proof for this is that when Cheetara runs with Wizz-Ra back to the Lair so he can return to his dimension without dying there is still some daylight, so maybe Mumm-Ra should have measured a daytime according to the time in the Lair, not the one of his pyramid. As I said, this episode can be much more interesting for what is not clear , and I suppose that every fan of the series has his small theories of why the episodes turned out the way they did.

Thanks for reading.
