"The Preamble" is another educationally entertaining segment of "Schoolhouse Rock!'

"We the people, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America." If you're reading the above and singing to it, you obviously remember it from "Schoolhouse Rock!" I certainly did and while one can quibble about the editing out of the "of the United States" part between "people" and "in", it's still very accurate words of the Preamble of the Constitution as sung by Lynn Ahrens in this animated short shown between various Saturday morning ABC programs during the '70s. The rest of the song, as written by Ms. Ahrens, does a good job of telling of what led to this important document's creation with accompanying images providing some humor like seeing the names of the other crew members of these shorts on the names of the ballots! So on that note, "The Preamble" is a very worthy segment of "Schoolhouse Rock!".
