There may be too many different stories here, not enough time spent on any one of them.

Of course, Bentley must be the tough guy, he does not shave regularly.

I am impressed with Hyo-Joo Han (SoYun), both her acting and apperant fighting ability. Plus this episode shows there was an aftermath to her fight, so often they have a knock-down, drag-out fight with the female character and there are no marks afterwards.

Kudos also, to Gabrielle Scharnitzky (Petra), for allowing herself to look less than glamorous. And she gets to be an kind of kick-ass spy that no-one would expect.

There are a few flaws. When SoYun hides the knife up her sleeve, she appears to cut herself, yet later that night there does not seem to be any cut.

Also, in the 50's era "missile silo" there is a touch-tone phone? Really? They were not commercially available in the US until 1963, and took a while to become widely available. It is unlikely that ANY military would rely on what was then an unproven technology for their communications.

I will check in on this next week. Any series with Michelle Forbes is one I want to watch.

Now, Treadstone looks like the Jason Bourne Universe

Was it me or was all the foreign dialogue not translated? I could get subtitles in other languages but not English. The only thing I could get was English descriptive and the lost information was vital

One of the joys of the Bourne films was the tradecraft terminology urgently bandied around in the surveillance suite "get me eyes on the the package!" "the snake is in the grass" Like a more exciting version of "blue sky thinking" business phrases

However, in this TV adaptation we hear unintentionally funny lines such as "quick come with me I must talk to you about Treadstone - oh and by the way your Father is dead"

Much like the baffling plot of Season 2 of Jack Ryan (again on Amazon), which is based on the character by Tom Clancy (who was a Conservative leaning American Military enthusiast) where it takes place in Venezuela (which has recently been put down the toilet because of Socialism) and the bad guy is the Leader of the country but inexplicably is a Right-Wing Nationalist (of a Socialist Country?!?!) this has some rather bizarre depictions of Socialist Nations...in this North Korea is depicted as having lush parks with people freely walking around happy and healthy, wearing expensive fashionable clothes and jewellery...what?! This is preposterous!

Anyway weird political rant aside, this Episode, like Episode 1, is low budget with some laughably bad acting (and the version of Instagram in this world is called 'Yousergram'...yikes) but it passes the time if you've nothing better to do! ;)
