Two groups of robbers hit a small store at the same time, and the conflict degenerates into unexpected unresolved personal conflicts and ideological debates. And it doesn't end well for anyone...except maybe the clerk, who gets to vent.
That makes it sound boring and pedantic. It's not. It's funny. The actors are bright and clever and the dialogue is smart and the direction keeps it moving.
But more than anything, it's fun. Is it insensitive to political ideologues and true believers? Yes, of course. That's the whole point of the film; does ideology stand up in the real world?
It's a short, and it's a comedy, and so it's a bit of a trifle. But worth seeing? Oh yes. In an era when every issue and every opinion is life and death, this film says "umm, y'know, maybe not?"
