Not the flashback episode
mmmjv7 December 2019
There were two "The Promised Playhouse" episodes. This one here from 1955 which is the original and a flashback episode from 1959 called "The Promised Playhouse Flashback" In the non flashback scenes from 1959 Billy Gray does look a bit older. He would have been 21 then and in the flashbacks he was 17.

This is really a response to the other review but I didn't see any way of replying.

Ridiculous episode
SixteenFiftyNine15 April 2019
FKB is such a good show this episode is a shame. This is a flashback episode about promises, keeping them and not making ones you can't keep. Jim recalls past promises involving the kids from "four or five years ago" when Kathy had the measels and yet the children are all the same age. Why would the writers use a time period so far in the past? It's just silly. Time frame should have been a few months, not years. Terrible writing on this episode which bothers me each time I see it. Requires a ridiculous overstretch on suspension of disbelief.

A Promise Is A Promise

(*Jim to Margaret quote*) - "I'm just a little disgusted right now."

This episode of TV's "Father Knows Best" is all about Jim Anderson keeping his word when he makes promises to his children.

Of course, each one of Jim's children make a point of reminding him about the promises he has made. It's especially Kathy (a really demanding brat) who comes down hard on Jim about the matter of keeping a promise.
