When this episode starts, Flipper is in the back of a truck getting ready to show some officials his stuff. Sandy has to go to work. Dad has work to do. So, Bud is all on his own. Sandy reminds him to stay out of trouble, do his chores, and finish his book report. Bud grumbles at first, but then realizes that Moby Dick is about a whale.
A boy looking for adventure, reading a book in the boat while getting in some fishing is more fun then staying home. But when a boy like Bud reads, he often falls asleep. And when a boy has just read an adventurous story about a whale, he dreams. That's what this story is about.
A bit of irresponsibility is shown in this one as Bud wakes up to realize that he's run out of gas. Of course, the park ranger flying over at that moment just happens to be the one person he didn't want...
A rather light-hearted story, and one a boy who likes to imagine would enjoy. Except I thought the dream was a bit weak...it could have been made a lot more exciting.
