I saw this at the Satisfied Eye International Film Festival and it was one of my favourite shorts; and is one of those films that you're still thinking about days afterwards. The name Lieve translates to Love in English and with the central character a carer, that's incredibly pertinent as we follow the sometimes agonising journey of a woman whose life and work revolves around showing empathy to others. Unfortunately the world doesn't necessarily reciprocate. It's a painfully truthful film that everyone can relate to and it's held up by a wonderful and incredibly human central performance by the lead actress Joke Emmers and a beautiful score; and of course all brought together by excellent directing.
