The Devil's burning hole.

When looking at the shorts featured at the Soho Horror Film Festival, this was the one with the most strange title, leading to me discovering how this Demon would be after a spicy meal from the night before.

Note: Review has some plot details.

View on the film:

Bringing the Demon in to spice things up via too much demonic chilli powder being spilled, writer/director Brian Lonano & cinematographer Andrea Acs has the Demon (voiced with a bellowing howl by a terrific Nik Morgan) cook up for Roxy's (played with a kooky charm by Rachelle Lynn) a tasty splatter kitsch atmosphere of the puppet effects giving the little critter Demon a cuteness, which is matched eccentric day-glo colours dripping down every panning shot round Roxy's household,as she digs into the fridge to find a deadly weapon to use.

Spitting out abuse at Roxy, the screenplay by Lonano superbly cooks an off-beat Comedy, which peels away at the threats of the Demon, to study the homophobia underlying all of his one-liners, that reveals underneath it all his true desires,as Roxy cools off a devilishly hot dish.
