Eggs
tferillo21 September 2021
For those who have not seen the movie Big Night, the eggs scene was a replication of the end of that movie where the two brothers make amends after animated argument.

The omelette scene was sublime!
SimonSaysSmallScreen30 October 2021
I guess I'm not surprised that people can't relax and enjoy a 3-minute scene with no dialogue. We're so used to formula TV moving things along to hold our minuscule attention spans. But that scene was art. And, we got to see all three of the actors smile (Giamatti even lets slip a little chuckle) when he succeeds, mostly, in flipping the omelette. That wasn't like piercing the fourth wall, but more like the fourth wall didn't exist for a moment. The actors, the characters and the audience, for those three minutes all occupied the same space where making an omelette is just what it is. I love that stuff, and I love that some directors still have the confidence in their art to keep that scene in.

Great homage
Piedradura19 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a fairly good episode. The formula is getting a little long in the tooth, so there is only so much they can do with it at this point. Axe seems a little cartoonish compared to how complex and charismatic he was in the early seasons. Wags continues to grow more interesting, though.

The homage to the film "Big Night" in the kitchen scene was really wonderful. Not loving the Axe-Wendy angle, though.

Eggs scene saved this episode for me
dingdong4eva10 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A rather weak episode, until they go into the kitchen for a quick omelette breakfast. What followed took us by surprise and the whole time we were debating wtf is going on, we real time analysed Chucks cooking and every movement in the scene. No dialogue the whole time so we somehow were super focused and really invested.

Love the Wendy-Axe angle
HRoarkHRearden20 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Unlike some people, I really enjoyed this episode but I did speed through the egg cooking scene which did not make a lot of sense to me.

I understand it was an homage, but in the context of Billions, was it to underline the new established relationship between Chuck and Prince? Or is there a special connection of some sort going deeper than their shared hatred for Axe? If not, what was the point? And even if they are just business allies now, we all know it won't last because it never does so again, what was the point?

The rest of the episode was good in my opinion and although I love the Wendy-Axe special connection, I don't know if I want to see them really together yet. I much prefer observing Axe suffer from a distance. For some reason, it makes his character more interesting. However, I sense that after making himself vulnerable, he might crush her... again.

Started out hating this episode, but then...
emdreamtank20 September 2021
It finally showed off it's classic Billions charm. Every main character had their own moment to shine, and watching Chuck make eggs was interesting for some reason lol.

Covid BS
dollfacecrafter7 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Hated the COVID BS, masks and vaccine mandate, stupid, stupid, we get enough of that in every day life, lets have some escape-ism please, love this show, but this episode was weak, hate the Wendy/Axe thing, yuck, he is gross and over the top. She could have anyone, but that Tanner guy was just a Tool with a capital "T", did not like him at all, Mr. Artist with ideals who throws paint at a canvas and its supposed to be good ?? I dont get it, even a baby could do that. Dumb storyline IMO. I usually really like this show, hope they have some good things up their sleeve, because it is getting kind of ridiculous..........

Homage to Midnight Run?
montebrown-221 September 2021
When Chuck is talking to Wendy about the financial settlement he mentions their attorney, Jonathan Mardukas, which is the name of Charles Grodin's character in Midnight Run. It seems to unusual a choice to be a coincidence.

Excellent tutorial on how to make an omlette
kormoczidani27 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The episode is below the average in terms of storyline but the end scene where Chuck Rhodes is cooking an omlette was quite weird. No talking for several minutes just watching Paul Giamatti making an omlette...

Is this the same show as the past two episodes?
nategerard7720 September 2021
I think we found where they stopped shooting for the pandemic. Lots of screens and meaningless scenes. This was nowhere near the previous two meaty episodes.

What?
scottyding20 September 2021
This was the worst episode of the entire series. Like they were literally wasting time to make it as long as the other episodes. Maybe looking back this will make more sense. But after 1st viewing, this was a big time miss.

All over the place
philfeeley22 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Despite what another writer here said about the egg cooking scene, I didn't understand it - probably because I (and most everyone else?) was unfamiliar with the reference. I kept waiting for some shocking revelation to happen - something, anything - but when it didn't the whole scene fell flat.

The entire episode was trying to handle too many plot lines. Maybe the whole series is.

Omelette spoilers!
stehewitt-2755128 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode aged horribly. Watching years after the pandemic is not advised. Really hoping the rest of the season isn't like this, as I might as well skip it.

Can understand soaps and the like filming through the pandemic and making do, but Billions should be better than that. Characters just seem to be making bizarre u-turns where none of the season has lead to that point.

Who divides an omelette between 3 people anyway?! Who just stands there whilst someone makes an omelette and makes zero small talk?! Whole seen is one the oddest few minutes of TV I've ever seen.

Over reviews claiming the 'art' of this episode. I guess so because art should make you feel something and this left me so so so bemused.

Shockingly political...
riaanjonck26 September 2021
Stay in your lane. Politics is not good for ratings. You've lost your audience. Sad, but the end of the line for many people that loved this.

Waiting for the next scene
yusufhamdan201222 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When Chuck starts to make eggs, I actually thought that in the next second or two, the next scene will start. But next you're stuck to see the whole scene on how Chuck makes eggs for his daughter and Mike Prince. Are you seriously out of content to add in the show that you thought it's a good idea to add how to make eggs?
