Not a waste of time
DoSiDoe3 April 2020
The documentary set out to come to a predetermined conclusion and "prove" there were women who were viking warriors. It seemed to mostly rehash previous work and no new real discoveries.

Some of the science was interesting.

My largest issue, as with many documentaries, is the music. It's overly dramatic and, not only adds nothing to the program, but it's very distracting. Frequently drowning out the dialog resulting in missed points

An ironic narrative
waking-the-fallen-9899510 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
44 minutes of woman buried with axe, must have been a high ranking warrior, men puny.

Presents opinion as fact with flimsy evidence and doesn't explore any alternative theories. The narrator and "experts" have an arrogance about them, insinuating foolishness or political bias if you do not agree with them.

Oh give me a break!!!

Please enough of forced narative of women warriors everywhere in history. Everywhere program thats new these days (yawn). Apparently we lived in revisitonist society where history is being rewritten. Let's just go full hog and say men picked the berries, birthed and raised the children and made the clothes (cause apparently that work has no value, only the violent and strong should be celebrated) and the women were warriors and violent. Instead of celebrating violence as the only satisfying accomplishment let's just try, for once, to follow the evidence and celebrate everyone's role in survival without all the pandering.

Nothing educational about this. Just an obvious forced narrative.

Who's Threatened by these Viking Women?

This piece explores new explanations for evidence found, by questioning assumptions and using new technologies. It has much value in rewriting or, at least, supplementing our knowledge of Viking culture. It dares to ask new questions and accept new answers.

Circumstancial Evidence
rsplace27 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Over the top narration, exposition full of filler and poorly done experiments fill this History Channel style content. Apparently warriors facing archers wore nothing under thin, flimsy chainmail. Ignored is the very strong possibility that this solitary female was buried with her husband's or son's possessions. A scientific disaster.

Interesting!

Me and my daughter watched this together, very interesting. It isn't hard to believe there were warriors who were women. It is harder to believe all Viking warriors were men. Not every country had the mentally that women could not hold certain roles.
