  A.I. Device : Is he a threat?

  Captain Luthor : No. He's not important.

  A.I. Device : There's also been a development at the mines. Satellite imaging is showing increased activity.

  Captain Luthor : That's what her call was about. Pull it up.

• Captain Luthor : I ordered you a trente green tea with a splash of almond milk. It's what you got last time.

  Lois Lane : I think it's time we moved past favorite drinks and actually got to know each other.

  [returning to Luthor] 

  Lois Lane : We'll have to pick this up some other time. Something came up.

  Captain Luthor : Lois, this is serious. I need to speak with Superman.

  Lois Lane : Maybe when we're on a first-name basis.

  John Henry Irons : I'm a builder. Always felt comfortable in places like this... Surrounded by scraps and parts.

  Superman : Building's a noble profession.

  John Henry Irons : Been a while since anyone's paid me to do it.

  Superman : Any chance one of those people was Lex Luthor?

  John Henry Irons : It was a different life.

  Superman : Why are we really here?

  John Henry Irons : Because the world's about to be destroyed unless I save it.

  Superman : And how exactly are you planning on saving the world?

  John Henry Irons : By eliminating the threat.

  Superman : And you think that threat is Morgan Edge?

  John Henry Irons : Edge is involved, the he wont' be the main source of destruction.

  Superman : Then who will it be?

  John Henry Irons : [speaking Kryptonian]  I think you know, Kal-El.

  Superman : You're the Stranger.

  [Superman tries flying at him, he is stopped in his tracks by red solar lights on an RV] 

  John Henry Irons : I had a feeling you might try that. So I set these solar flares to a motion detector.

  Superman : Why are you doing this?

  John Henry Irons : Like I said, I'm here to save the world. You see, Kal-El, you're not the Man of Steel.

  [a hammer flies in his hand] 

  John Henry Irons : I am.

• John Henry Irons : This hero act of yours is all propaganda, a way to soften the masses before you turn on them. I made a promise to kill you once. I wasn't able to keep that promise on my Earth. But I will here.

  [Jordan hits him with the car] 

  Superman : [weakly]  Lights.

  Jonathan Kent : What?

  Superman : The lights!

  [with some effort, Jonathan picks up Irons' hammer and smashes the RV headlights; regaining some of his strength, Clark approaches Irons, ready to fire his heat vision] 

  Lois Lane : Stop! It's over. It's over.

• Natalie Irons : [finishing his battle suit]  It's smaller than I imagined.

  John Henry Irons : I couldn't have done it without you, Nat-Bug.

  Natalie Irons : [he touches a symbol on the armor's breastplate]  So I can be out there with you when you're kicking ass. You really think you could take one of them out?

  John Henry Irons : Only one way to know for sure.

• John Henry Irons : Hey, where's your mom?

  Lois Lane : [they see her on TV]  Coming to you live from downtown Metropolis, reporting on the scene is Lois Lane. The Kryptonians want you to think that they're indestructible. They're not. They have a weakness. It is a rock from their home planet called kryptonite. Find it so that we can defeat them.

  John Henry Irons : I told her not to do this.

  Lois Lane : And we must defeat them if we are to save humanity. For that is what separates us from them: our humanity.

  Natalie Irons : [seeing Superman appear behind Lois]  Mom!

  Lois Lane : I love you both.

  [Superman fires his heat vision at her] 

• Lois Lane : What are you doing?

  Captain Luthor : I assume the same thing you are.

  Lois Lane : No, we were following the truck hoping to find out where it was headed, which now we'll never know since you decided to go full-on Rambo!

  Captain Luthor : [taking a case out of the big rig]  I couldn't let this get where it was going.

  Lois Lane : 'Cause that's what Edge is gonna use to build his army?

  Captain Luthor : So you believe me now?

  Lois Lane : Enough games. Tell us what you know.

  Captain Luthor : Fine. Follow me.

• Lois Lane : If Edge is using X-Kryptonite to build an army, why would he send such a small shipment?

  Captain Luthor : Probably wanted to see who'd come for it.

  Lois Lane : Well, now that he knows, what's his next move?

  Captain Luthor : It's hard to say, but we need to be ready.

  Clark Kent : Ready how?

  Captain Luthor : It's what I was trying to tell you earlier.

  Lois Lane : You wanna meet Superman.

  Captain Luthor : It's the only way to stop this. You want answers? I'm willing to tell Superman everything.

  Lois Lane : I'm not in the habit of just connecting him with people.

  Captain Luthor : I'm thinking the possible end of the world might warrant an exception.

  Lois Lane : Okay. But I want something from you.

  [indicating the case of X-K] 

  Lois Lane : That.

  Captain Luthor : Okay. But I need to know one thing first. Do you trust him?

  Lois Lane : With my life.

  Captain Luthor : I thought you'd say that. Set up the meet.

• John Henry Irons : [hitting Superman with his hammer]  That looked like it hurt.

  [hitting him again] 

  John Henry Irons : This hammer harnesses kinetic energy. The further it travels, the more energy it creates. From 20 feet, it can stop a car in its tracks. 30, a truck. From 60, it can destroy a tank. Anything beyond that rivals a blow from Superman.

• A.I. Device : Do you believe Kal-El will come?

  Captain Luthor : I do. And we need to be ready.
