I hate this show
masonchillout15 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The story is so well told that i hate how emotional this ending made me after all of it. David really made a name for himself but not because he wanted to be the king of a city that gave him nothing but he did it because he wanted another person to live a happier life then he did. He was selfless and definitely "built different" as he said himself. Idk what they could do after this cus i definitely dont want to see lucy in pain; staying in night city after all that happened. She deserves this ending cus david died for it. I'll end by saying killing adam smasher in the game is going to feel much better knowing what he did to my favs david and rebecca.

God damn what an unforgetable emotional rollercoaster of a season finale! YES.. i say season finale cause i really want that second season!! I usually dont tear up that easily, but when the song came on i just couldn't help myself! David and Lucy turned into one of my favorite couples! Complex... and yet so simple relationship! Im gonna think about them whenever i hear that song!

Overall this show has amazed me!! Great animation, visuals, soundtrack and story! Great vibe and atmosphere that creates an experience like NO other! Really feels like that theme park ride u never want to end!

Give this show a chance.. YOU want regret it!

Warning: Spoilers
I was having chills the entire episode. Maybe it's because of the powerful soundtracks playing in the background or maybe it's because of how brutal the things turned out to be. I never expected it to go down this brutally.

Bring him BACKKKK!!! Bring them all back. Why tf did you do that to Becca, man? What a tale this has been. Luce, the last one standing. Finally reached Moon but at what cost?

Couldn't sleep after watching this. This is without doubt the best new anime of 2022 and one of the best shows I watched in 2022. I hope they announce a second season.

CYBERPUNK : EDGERUNNERS - (8.8/10)

Let You Down (8/10) - Like a Boy (8.5/10) - Smooth Criminal (8/10) - Lucky You (9/10) - All Eyez on Me (8/10) - Girl on Fire (9.5/10) - Stronger (8.5/10) - Stay (8.5/10) - Humanity (9/10) - My Moon My Man - (9.5/10)

A tragic conclusion to a emotional story.
tfonias7426 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I knew the ending was going to be "bad" but didn't expect it to hit so hard..

Excellent direction and beautifully realized characters in the leading couple.

I would like to thank the creators for giving heart and emotion to the game world that needed it badly. Not that it didn't have it's moments but nothing this meaningful.

David's story arc reveals where the game failed with the genetic protagonist and why Witcher was so much better.

The metamorphosis of David's character was interesting and believable.

Didn't expect this level of storytelling.

David and Lucy will be dear to me despite the small time i knew them.

Just insane show from start to finish
milantasic-342353 October 2022
The visuals, the story and the characters are well done in such a short runtime of 10 episodes, one of the best shows i have seen in a while, and I don't say that lighty.

Ending was amazing and I wish we could have seen more episodes for it to hit even harder the it did. The song "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" was a bop at the begging, but now, after finishing the series, it brings back the pain, which i think is a nice touch. All the ost's are well done, and complement the action well.

The show really dosent hold back on its scenes, and combied with great wrighting and cast you care about, make for a masterpiece that is Edgerunners.

Amazing.

Wow what an amazing season finale; was not expecting this show to resonate with me this much even though I've played and beat the game that this show is based off multiple times. That being said wow. This. Episode. The whole show I was invested in David and Lucy's relationship but in this episode it all came together into an honestly perfect finale for a show like this. All the character arcs and motives came to an end in this episode and just ah I'm fresh off watching the ending and it stuck with me so much, those last 10 or so minutes are some of the best I've seen this year in any season finale and when those two characters kiss in front of the moon just made me lose it and it was so beautiful to watch. Thank you to studio trigger and CDPR for making this amazing show. 10000/10.

Art in action
markloyder15 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The last episode is pure class. In a relatively short time, we managed to connect with the main character (David) and Lucy. The episode is full of emotions and superb colors. The series is so good that you can watch it from the first to the last episode in one sitting. With a lot of action, it is still a romantic story and that makes it special.

The development of David's character is extraordinary. From a small, scared kid to an incredible machine, but with a big heart. David and Lucy really work as a couple and I was rooting for them until the very end.

Finally, with a tear in my eye, I can say that I'm sorry that they didn't go to the moon together in the end.

It gave me depression 10/10

Good God how do I start... Whole show was absolutly amazing, over those only 10 epizodes I've grown SOO attached to all the characters that I felt every emotion with them, this ending epizode was actualu perfect... no matter what anyone else says alltho everyone propably already figured it out before the last epizode, but I fell like it was the only ending that wouldn't leve me with a felling of unsatisfaction, don't get me wrong it's just the ending that fits with reality of Cyberpunk and we cant do nothing about it, I've also sayed ending and i didn't mean just a season but series as a whole, cause there is no way that iteh story is gonna get continued, sorry but i can't imagine what would even be in season 2. Thats all there is nothing left to say meaby except that evrry time I'll ever hear I Really Want to Stay at Your House i will tear up.

I believed in David
Behluel27 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really feel the urgent need to go back to the Cyberpunk 2077 game and beat the .... out of Adam Smasher again. And again. And again.

However, unfortunately, killing an employed mother in Arasaka tower in the episode before marked the point of no return for David and his crew. He wasn't the innocent boy back in the days anymore when his mother was around. He accidentally committed a terrible crime on a run, and there was no way he could calm his conscience.

Seriously, it was so clear that the team would end up like this, but I still didn't want to believe it. I nevertheless believed in David, that he would do the right thing in the end. And chooms, he did so well.

I hated the ending but I can't deny it's amazing
alonsogcrl20 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished the series and I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth, it is evident that the ending is totally inspired by Akame ga kill, everyone dies including the protagonist, but I do not consider this to be a positive thing. The ending is good, is it the one I wanted? No. I consider that the history of the characters had a lot to exploit, they could perfectly have done 1-2 more seasons about David, Lucy and Rebecca, but by giving us this abrupt ending, any possibility of this is cut off. Night city is a raw city, I understand it, and it is evident that the series portrays it perfectly, however I consider that too much potential was wasted, the characters had history, development and motivations, which is very difficult to achieve in 10 episodes, it is Sad that it ended like this. Visually and sonically, it is a wonder 10/10.

a great, heartbreaking finale
crazychainsaw18 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the first animes i've actually enjoyed, so to have a finale written like this is different to me.

To have David become a Cyberpsycho was unique writing, even though seeing the difference in how the character acted was very dark and depressing.

On top of that, seeing pretty much every character die was upsetting, especially Rebecca. The way she died and displaying the aftermath was brutal. Despite that, I still loved the finale even though I wish the characters were expanded upon more.

With that said, I can't wait for more from this series. As I love it a lot for its music, action, and for how gritty it can be.

Cyberpunk
tobstobbe20 September 2022
Super good show, useless main character in my opinion, and not that interesting compare to the other crew members. But perfect executed action scenes, and nice language and nudity. Can't really complain about anything besides the main character... Would definitely have given it an 8 if the main character wasn't so annoying and useless, because all the other crew members has humor and know their role in life, but I'll guess most people won't notices it, since it's an really easy turn of brain series, with lots of blood and splatter, i honestly hope they make more like this, also super great English voice actors, even though it's original made on japanese.

Pretty Average Ending.
HotHamlet15 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The last episode of the anime is passable and Adam Smasher from the game was a cool little addition but overall the episode was simply average.

The death of Rebecca was downplayed by the three little cuts before her death. I had when they do this in this anime as i feel it doesn't work at all. It happens a few times during this anime throughout.

Faraday was just as bad as ever and id didn't care at all for David's death. The best part of this episode was Adam Smasher and this is only because i have played the game. If you watch or wave watching this without having played the game you will have no idea who he is and won't care at all. Adam Smasher was only cool for me because i know about him from the game with Johnny Silverhand etc.

Overall i believe this is the worst episode of the lot and i'm disappointed, 4/10.

could it end another way?
carlstar-8762629 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Saw the first and hoped it would earn a 7.

Could be a 10 but nothing is perfect if you are honest.

Through the series characters were introduced and ended in a Night City way.

What happens makes sense and suits the world.

The powers are extreme but they have to be as the end goal, as well as smasher being there made it so they had to be.

Could see a second series based off Falco as a fixer and Lucy the information gatherer. Would David actually be a mech as Smasher said he could be? Araska wouldn't just let him die if they could control and use him. Can Flaco and Lucy break him free or will everyone be doomed. I would guess everyone would be doomed, with David somehow killing Lucy, without knowing who she is as he is mindless.

A depressing world deserves depressing, interesting and realistic stories.

I cried
kbekben19 September 2023
Its my first review ever and I'm not someone who really does this type of thing so I'm gonna be brief, I never cry watching movies or shows or anything, last time I cried that I remember was like 15 years ago and when I watched the ending of this show + the song of "I Really Want To Stay At Your House" not only I teared up but I cried very heavily, this is one of the best shows I have ever watched and I have watched a lot, the only bad thing that I can say about this series is that it felt very rushed specially the ending and that I would have loved it to be a little bit longer, but it doesn't matter, because the show is perfect. Watch it please.

i nearly cried

Warning: Spoilers
This finale made me sad for david and lucy for hours afterwards, watching david slowly turn cyberpsycho was truly saddening as he was obviously going down the same path as maine without even realising it. The scene in the end when lucy and david share a kiss whilst david is falling in front of the moon truly made us realise how far we'd come from the first episode, the gradual change in david from going to a normal kid trying to get by day to day, barely living to a hulking behemoth in a giant mechanical suit mowing down entire teams of military squads really gives a great contrast and the ending of david and rebecca dying was heartbreaking as lucy couldn't fulfill her dream of going to the moon with david.

It needs a more seasons to the end
mykapez1 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Will this show needs at least 3 season to make the ending is prefect... I didn't had feelings for the characters that we lost them..we didn't know them yet we didn't lived and grow with deavid ... rebacka she was a horrible character she definitely deserve a happy ending not like finished her with cold blood!!! , We did not need the time jump, they could make a different story with the characters in order to relate to them and love them, the end is nice and not that bad, but I had no feelings, we needed a lot to get to know the characters and relate to them before ending the story at a weak level.

Warning: Spoilers
A few loved it and guess just hothamlet and myself that thought it was average.. killing the mouthful dude was alright i didnt even remember he was there.. the macho girl ok too.. but they should have kept maine around.. but guess not since david then became the leader.. falco was ok and shorty was awesome.. but again, like i i said in the preious episodes, what was the goal here?

David kept remembering his mother.. but why? He was not still in school trying to prove himself and make her proud.. so remembering her made no sense at all.. nono

the story had to come from a different perspective.. still the same low class background but maybe they had a small business and david helped her run it.. and then some arasaka guys while chasing someone, just kill his mother and seriously hurt him or something.. and then they give 0 fu*** to him and his mom... and then we have a revenge story... MOTIVATION...

here, david has nothing.. he just becomes the basic hollywood underdog who gets the girl and just tries to please her... in the end, he gets owned by adam smasher while she gets all the money and have fun...

disappointing..

This episode pushed the show from an 8 to a 6
David_deserved_better21 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Really disappointed with the ending of this show.

They lined up everything for a possible good ending, but threw it all away for some reason. Besides that, this episode lacks content, we gain no new information only a 10 minute car chase with a focus on an explosion every 10 seconds. The final encounter aka the grand finale where David meets his nemesis Adam Smasher is over before it even started. And why did Rebecca had to die? I didn't watch the last 3 minutes. It was all the same cringe meaningless recap we already saw 3 times with the same music.

Ending should be like this:

1) They get to Lucy

2) Lucy saves David

3) Smasher isn't even there

4) they rescue Kiwi and

5) David flies to the moon with Lucy / cut.

Is it cringe? Yes, but at least not forced to be sad for no reason.
