Is it great or is it great?

I don't know about ya'all but I just keep getting the feeling that the episodes are just too darn short for this kind of show, furthermore, they tend to end so quickly because of how enthralling they are.

Hands down, great show. Great job to all who made it that way.

The fun in dysfunctional
dolphiea8 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
We should have known (months ago) that a few bullets and a bomb can't slow down a Dutton. Beth keeps collecting scars, something like The Portrait of Dorian Gray- that's got to mean something. We shall see. Note to Beth's Next assistant- It's a very Temporary position!! Rip (junior) is an adorable addition. Rip (the original), Beth and the kid could put the Fun in Dysfunctional, Dutton family wise anyway. It might work(?)

In Beth we trust.
gina_gemini8 November 2021
It is the fourth season and it's still as gripping as when the series first started.

I am sure every fan has a favorite character on this show but I personally can't get enough of Beth.

When I am watching her I just don't want the scene to end. Such great performance.

One of few shows I eagerly look forward to.

Great episode, no murders or bombings

Good storyline. Several new interesting paths introduced with mostly positive cast interaction and less blood and guts along with some refreshing humor. One of my favorite Yellowstone episodes.

sandrajw-488-8924848 November 2021
Nice to see it to a slight dip of enjoyment and brought a new character into S4 Hope Carter stays and brings some stability to Beth.

Another must I wait to see what happens next week episode.

As awesome as those Barrel Racing girls...:)

Modern Ranching at it's best...The characters are all great...Nice to see the Duttons on their way to recovery...I see a few comments hating on Beth...She's AMAZING and obviously, they don't understand how acting works...She's a bit over the top but; If you saw her in Justified; you know she has the chops...Great actress and she fits in great with the rest of the cast..

I like this Costner too...Folksie...

EXCELLENT! Other than mis-directed anger!
apiper-8900710 November 2021
So ... Beth really needs to get past this whole Freudian complex with Jamie. He's a jerk, so what. It's fairly obvious he did not orchestrate the attack on the Dutton family. Pursuing this is only going to cause further problems for them. SECONDLY, hey JOHN! ... instead of busting Jimmy's balls so hard when he can barely stand, why not save a little of that for the dumb C*** who manipulated him into doing what he did, rather than coming off so sanctimonious about "ya broke ya word to me, son?" They keep talking about making him a "cowboy," (none of them are actual cowboys because they have WAYYY too much time to sit around and bitch, play cards, and/or get drunk) when the track record shows that Jimmy, although in need of more growing up, is definitely a better rider than the rest of them. Just sayin. ....

Great Episode, Except...
Beaumont1224 March 2022
Not a fan of Taylor Sheridan's acting. I believe everyone but him, he is just not at the same level as the rest of the cast. It feels like the boss hanging out on the factory floor thinking he's working as hard as everyone else but he is just in the way. Love all the shows he has created, but please no more acting.

Lots of questions
garyb-847417 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So what happened to the kid who was with John changing the tire? His mom was killed but I thought maybe Rip and Beth would adopt him. How did they figure out who the shooters were? No details at all of any investigation, John just says kill the rest of the militia Kayce. Where are Monica and Tate? What happened at the bunk house anyway? So does everybody know Jamie was adopted now? Did everyone know but Jamie? Do they even know now? No details at all. Willa told Roarke to treat it like Yemen so wouldn't an attack like that happen in Yemen? No way did Jamie do that, not to the whole ranch. They need to address these issues instead of cowboy stupidity. The snake bite? Nobody dies that fast.

Show feels like a guilty pleasure
grlym-4684931 December 2021
I try not to think to deep in this show, because really it's not deep at all.

Ironically, I think the only people who could say how fictitious this show is, are probably working too hard all day long to have time to watch this. Which leaves city people like me and country folk who think they are tough enough to do these jobs to watch it

It's kind of a western with cars and cell phones. Everyone is out for themselves. Family is what you make so there is enough hands to work the ranch.

I want to care about the main cast, but it's like watching the sopranos. You're just routing for scum of the earth criminals to not get hurt by other criminals

Beth is still repulsive as a character. It it appears that she may do more than cuss in this season to warrant her existence

Tbh, the only character worth rooting for is the characters who are liked within the show. Like the struggling young cowboy, the the Native American mother.

What's with Rip and the kid?
silverton-3795921 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's a little weird how the sheriff says that the kid would do the world a favor if he died in his sleep, or however he put it. Maybe he's just never had any contact with teenagers, or maybe the writer just wanted to get to the next step with the story of the kid and didn't know how to do it. The kid tried to rob a 7-11 with a screwdriver? Really?

Rip comes home and immediately starts to act as if the kid has tried to rape his wife or burn down his house. The way he acts is as if he has a long history with Carter and has reached hsi liit, but it's actually the first time he has laid eyes on him. That's not only out of character for Rip, it's just plain idiotic.

Carter is a typical, annoying adolescent who has the misfortune of having a heroin addict father who dies, leaving him alone in the world. Everyone he meets among the Dutton family seems to want to attack him for no apparent reason. I think it's just a case of a showrunner who tells his writers part of what he wants and expects them to just make it up on the fly. The writers aren't the greatest team working in the industry, which everyone who has been watching from the beginning should know by now.

Lightning round! Plus a new Mystery Evil Nemesis
future-neumann8 November 2021
Lots of plot advancement in this episode!

So much time passes in-between scenes, I half expected the customary, "MEANWHILE" to start appearing.

The corporate chairmadam looks familiar, but is uncredited! Sally Strothers?

Loads of new developments keep us entertained though. Well worth the wait.

Yeah, the granny will show them!
mihmichael22 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In season 3 we had the big setup for a great war - there were "sharks", there were smart people, there were low blows.... And now we get a granny hanging from the grave and she's the "force to be reckoned with"? Wow. Nosedive for Yellowstone. Guess the granny paid a lot to appear in this show.

Beth condemnation part two
terrylarosa9 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
WTH are these weirdos who say that we can't utterly loathe the despicably loathsome character of Beth?? She is as vile as they come. Her and Rip are the heart of the show?? Only if that show were in a lunatic asylum. We need to grow up because we hate a disgusting inhuman character who has not one ounce of decency, decorum or how to act in civilized society?? This show has plenty of suspect amoral characters that are good and bad with plenty of antagonists. Why is Jaime afraid of her when he fantastically knocked her down in S1?? We don't need one masquerading as a tough but deep down good character championed by delusional people. What???? Now I can see why in real life people championed a certain politician that was even worse. Would have been better to kill her off and have Dutton and Rip go on a total rampage. Who says a fictional character can't be exceedingly hated? Anyone here remember Ramsay from Game of Thrones?? Now that I got my seething Beth hatred out of the way the 2nd ep was a step down. Where are Tate and Monica. Did the kid grow too big ala Walt from Lost and has to be sidelined for now?? Speaking of Lost why kill of Sawyer's character so abruptly? He was turning out to be an interesting character. And has the bunkhouse turned into a frat house with all the chicks practically living there now ( except for Teeter who belongs there ). What was Jimmy expecting if he can't work and didn't honor his word?? The harder and younger Dutton would have thrown him out. Show is still great and should change and evolve its characters but not in the wrong way. Thank God for Kayce; the only true North on the show.......

Phantom Pain
bobcobb30122 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Everything Beth is just so bad, but other than that this episode was just fine. The show knows its audience and plays to it, but after my request to see the villain show up by tonight, I was already a little disappointed.

So I guess this is turning into the Taylor Sheridan Show?!
jeersNcheers10 December 2021
I just kept wondering where the Jimmy 'plot' stream was going, him being sent to the 6666 ranch in Texas to learn how to cowboy after working for the Duttons for years. Then I read that Taylor Sheridan bought the 6666. OH I SEE! Gotta make sure the viewers are aware of big, important, rich Taylor Sheridan's new ownership. Makes me sick! Why anyone would buy that ugly ranch in Texas rather than a beautiful ranch in Montana is beyond my ability to understand. I like Jimmy fine, but that Jimmy/6666 Ranch plot stream is going NOWHERE.

I recently noticed that Taylor Sheridan is the horseman on the show that stops the horse fast and spins around like a top. That was impressive the first 2 or 3 times, but I don't need to see that little trick again, neither do I need to see Taylor Sheridan's 'acting' anymore.

For the first 3 seasons, I give this show a 10, but this season is extremely disappointing and downright boring!
