I feel like this two episode long adventure is basically an excuse to put Anakin, Obi Wan and Dooku into a situation where they all end up captured and chained together so that they have to work together. That is fine as an idea for a fun interlude in the Clone War adventures and I think they went for a similar scenario to Return of the Jedi where Jabba the Hut has Luke, Han and Chewie at his mercy but I just think these two episodes were not done very well in certain aspects.
My first problem with this episode is that there is a dreadful bit of editing between the preceding episode and this one which creates a plot hole. Anakin and Obi Wan were given drugged drinks in the previous episode but were seen switching them so they drank drinks given to two of the pirates instead. Yet this episode begins with Obi Wan and Anakin awaking in a cell having been 'drugged'! How were they drugged when they switched the drinks?! Very poor edit.
My second issue is that I find the idea that Dooku, Obi Wan and Anakin combined should deal with their escape attempts a lot better and it feels too contrived that they keep failing but still are allowed enough chance to try again only to fail again each time.
The third issue is that Jar Jar gets involved in this second part of the story and, as usual, is an unwelcome aspect with his silly pratfalls and accidental heroism etc.
This had some great banter between the captured Jedi and Sith as well as the good Hondo character and some harmless fun escape adventures but overall, due to the flaws, this was the weakest episode of Clone Wars up to this point. The good aspects stop it from being a disaster and it is mostly harmless fun, especially for kids, but it has some poor scenes.
My rating: 5/10.
