Starts promising but fatal and suprising flaws sink it
daysofheaven7829 March 2023
This porn movie starts quite good with beautiful Lena Anderson looking for a job. She gets it then Anderson has two extended lesbian sex scenes, first with a girlfriend and after that with her domina-like boss. The big problem with the movie is the fact that Anderson's beauty is not fully shown through 110 minutes, we don't get a view of her butt which is a fatal mistake in a porn movie. Maybe Anderson wrote this into her contract? And also the final sex scene - which lasts about 20-25 minutes - fails, because there is hardly enough movement, the two girls just lie on the bed, the boss on top, and they never move from that position, which makes the whole scene laughable. Even the camera does not move here anymore, did the crew members go out for a coffee or a cigarette? No idea. With beautiful Anderson (who also can act) this could have been great but these ridiculous mistakes turn it into a bomb.

Outstanding, serious drama by Nica

Warning: Spoilers
After ending her long-term career directing features for Mile High Media, Nica Noelle made several movies for Erika Lust, the progressive alt-porn producer, and "Girl Friday" exemplifies the serious approach NN takes.

It plays like an indie movie near the mainstream, portraying with subtle but intense acting by a very talented cast the coming of age of young Charlie McQueen, played by the tall, lean starlet Lena Anderson. She goes for a job interview and is confronted with blunt, dismissive questions by lawyer Olivia Trombley. Upshot is Olivia hiring the shy girl, against audience expectations.

Twist is that the previous assistant, chubby (and sexy) Rachel (Maddy O'Reilly), has been having a tortured mistress/slave relationship with her boss, and soon returns to confront Olivia. But the cool customer played by Wales remains dominant, and has a strong dom/sub sex scene with Rachel in the office, perhaps one for the road?

Charlie meanwhile has been obsessing (sexually) over her new boss, and is thrilled to be invited out on a sort of date with her. But Olivia finds incriminating photos of her f*cking Rachel on Charlie's phone.

That scores another confrontation, punctuated by the magic words: "Get on your knees, Charlie", with the young heroine rewarded with orgasms from her boss. Wistful ending is an open one, with Nica crossing up expectations once again, as Charlie achieves fulfillment, at least for the time being. The movie's obvious inspiration by that mainstream classic "Secretary" (Maggie Gyllenhaal/James Spader) is clear here, but minimal.

Mona Wales is utterly perfect as the ultra-cool dom, a performance that once again makes one wonder why she isn't an in-demand character actress in mainstream Hollywood rather than toiling in its XXX shadow. Lena, who attracted my interest starring in a quirky Wicked Pictures movie "Thief of Hearts", is terrifically sympathetic as the shy youngster, never seeming at all like a porno player.

Demi Sutra plays a friend of Charlie's from college, who has IR sex with her when they get together again, and uncredited are a butch character actress, low-key and effective as Charlie's mom plus Marcus London, unobtrusive as the bartender in the Olivia/Charlie restaurant scene.

Photography is quite good, and after directing several hundred features (I've tried to see all of them) Nica for the first time receives rather extensive crew listings on screen courtesy of Erika Lust Films.
