Cringe Comedy at its absolute best!
connercopeland2 August 2021
This is definitely the best episode currently.

Without spoiling anything, we see in this episode, character friendships/relationships are possibly threatened.

A new character appears and the fued between Shane and Armond hits a boiling point.

The series is coming together. It seems like Episode 5 will shape how the miniseries finally ends.

Very compelling episode

The drama and plot this episode had my jaw on the floor at some parts!

The actors do an amazing job with the material, and the atmosphere of the show feels relaxed and slowed down while still managing to bring the tension.

I love how flawed and complex all the characters are, from the rich guests to the staff. Highly recommend!!

This show is turning me into a psychopath

I want to muder the teen girls and that Shane guy and some rich aholes. They are pathetically annoying. Show is improving every week tho, definitely interested to see how it ends and who dies.

This show is so complex yet effortless

There are so many layers to each character and they do an excellent job of exposing individual character flaws , shortcomings , angst , coping skills , intentions ( and reasons ) and their humanity. It's entertaining and takes me to another world. I love the palette choices , wardrobe and hair ( not easy to do in a beach setting since some obvious choices are so subtle) beach vibes galore. The characters who are evolving are so spot on and those punches of 'over the top ' are done to a T.

So good, so subtle , so glaring !

This episode was exceptional, the suspense the cringe, the pinnacle, I was on the edge of my seat. What a great cast, could they be more perfect here ? The whole series feels effortless and real, dark and cringy , glorious and hilarious.

The honeymoon turning into a big puddle of mud

Warning: Spoilers
A dragging developing episode in a good way with nice interactions between the characters and more "dirt" spilled out. Accumulating momentum for the big "fights", most probably in the next episode with torrents of "water" pouring. Shane and Armond would soon get to a duel for life and death!

Best episode so far
solojere2 August 2021
Recentering is possibly the best episode so far, as things finally hit a boiling point for these characters. I won't spoil anything, but this episode was crazy and actually quite good. It also really helped to flush out these characters and their backgrounds better than in the previous episode. Also, the BLM Joke was so funny. Stan is still the worst, and now his mother is there too. I would like to see a little more of Olivia and Paula's relationship. It might just be me, but I get the vibe that Olivia has feelings for Paula, and it will be interesting to see if I am right.

Chatter

Warning: Spoilers
I actually looked forward very much to The White Lotus, with all the hullabaloo about this mini-series that pretty much redefined the zeitgeist post-pandemic with privilege and all. Anyway, the first episode was worth watching for sure of season one, but I was really disappointed by episodes two, three and four which has a surprise guest appearance by Molly "Saturday Night Live" Shannon to stir the cat amongst the pigeons in Hawaii.

The Bee El Em reference was quite poignant, when really it was Bureau of Land Management rather than some activism. I think the hotel manager was a bit miscast with the New Zealand actor.

Too much free time on your hands is the only reason to watch this dumpster fire of a TV show. Unbelievable characters and a truly ludicrous storyline don't add up to much. The redeeming quality is...not sure really. Maybe it's Alexandra Daddario's beautiful eyes and the gorgeous Hawaiian sunsets.

Such a BS episode
KanakaAu26 January 2023
With all the BS going on in this show, the biggest BS is ONCE AGAIN Hollywood's crap way of "including" Hawai'i culture into a show or movie. You know what, DON'T, because all that's shown most the time AIN'T EVEN HAWAIIAN! The performance was all Tahitian and Samoan, NOT HAWAIIAN!! (And having been a luau performer, the talking to a dancer in the middle of a show, NEVER HAPPEN!) The "Kai" story... don't even get me started! And the paddlers, again DON'T get me started! Sick of Hollywood exploiting indigenous Hawaiian culture AND all the "locals" who help do that! Most people won't care about what I'm saying, but other Native Hawaiians that actually practice our culture will care!!

More terrible and unlikable drivel
leesimon-2635725 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am furious at how hard the makers of this show relied on the score to make scenes appear comedic in this series.

Is getting a very young, uncomfortable employee so high that they can barely stand funny? Is it funnier if you have sex with that person? Funnier still that someone walks into your private office where this is happening, then blackmails you? Still not funny enough? How about the employee sobers up and also blackmails you? Wow, so much hilarity that I can barely stand it. Jokes right along the line of consent and impairment are so funny when they are clumsily done by a team that relies 100% on score for comedy. It's funny when you think people can't consent because then you get blackmailed, so everyone loses. That is so, so funny.

This show has zero love for its characters, and every tragedy that befalls them is not pulled off as satire. This is like going to a homeless shelter to laugh at disenfranchised people. There is no love in the "roasting" of the character archetypes. We're just supposed to watch them do and say bad things, while bad things happen to and around them. But again, the score tells you: laugh, monkey! This is funny!

I am seriously mad at this show. Absolutely not funny.
