The victims should build a fire to keep creatures out. City people, even L A, should have hunters, gatherers, keep everyone working? No survival consultants for this series?

No one reviews military procedures before writing about the military? Gavin said previously that he had 20 years in the Air Force but ha was only a Captain. Then his buddy f4om flight sxhool, Levi, shows up in this episode and he's only a Captain. Anybody can easily look up that it takes about 4-5 years to make Captain in the military. By about 10 years you're a Major. If they had 20 years in they should be a Lt Colonel. If not they would have been kicked out because they were not getting promoted. When the writers and producers and directors of shows and movies are this lazy it only hurts the product.

The writers and scenes are diabolical. Every episode has 2 animal chase scenes. 6 conversations worth nothing (2 around the campfire) and a "let's all do something stupid". I've learned to fast forward through any scene where two people are speaking to each other. Those scenes are far too long, full of cliches and never amount to anything. Dragging this out six episodes is a shame. Ok, the sloth ate all our food. Oh, what do we do? Idiot writing abounds.
Comparing these characters to the characters of Lost

Is like comparing Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings. Even with the terrible writing and awful effects if the characters were are least engaging there'd be some hope but almost all the characters are just lifeless and uninteresting. A better cast would have made this somewhat tolerable. How many prehistoric mammals must they see before they realize, without a doubt they're in the past. Dire Wolf, Sabertoothed Cat, Giant Sloth and a Cave Bear. Didn't they watch the episodes and realize there was something seriously wrong with the quality. Somehow still hanging on but what a chore.

We've constructed a map on what the terrain would look like 10,000 years BC. Based on what? How? - only one plausible answer - plot requirement.
They have established a clearing where survivors are most likely to be. Okaaaaay - run with it.
There's a landing strip 1km away where the special plane can land.
So plane takes off and shows quite clearly how it is able to hover and manouvre on the vertical axis. So what do you need a landing strip for? Why not land in the clearing?
When thought is applied to this toss it falls apart like a tower of cards.
