Questionable documentary
I started watching the first episode, but I quickly noticed detrimental errors. Molotov-Ribentrop pact was NOT signed May 3rd 1939, but actually August 23rd. Every Eastern European knows this date all too well. So do all governments. I have no idea what took place May 3rd. When the visual showed Germany and Russia invading Poland, the Baltic countries are clearly visible on the map, and are also included as the spoils for Stalin in the Pact. If this documentary makes such fundamental errors, I see no reason to continue watching it because I can not trust the producers and what they are trying to portray here. Just a slight reminder - The Multiverse does NOT actually exist.

A complete waste of time!
Screen1317 April 2022
6 x 45min episodes that could have been condensed in to a 10min YouTube video.

To makes matters worse, it's inaccurate and paints a picture of complete incompetence from the Axis.

Suggesting that the Nazis were never a military power house that conquered most of Europe.

Strange choice of so called experts... a Humanities professor discussing military technology, a historical consultant, a senior lecturer (subject unknown), the most credible being a History PhD researcher.

As someone that loves history I'm sad to say that I've learned nothing new from this show.

Don't waste your time!

Greatly flawed. Why did the Ozzies lose the documentary?
mformoviesandmore5 April 2022
Adding to previous reviews, this load of tosh called the Hood some sort of technical leading weapon as opposed to a left-over from WWI that was so flawed the British decided NOT to build the other versions.

Also, Germany did not start wars with Russia and Germany 'at the same time'.

They started one, and were dragged in to the other - later.

Perhaps we should look at all historical, and religious, artifacts and question how often we lose accuracy over time.

Paper thin

I watched two episodes and gave up. Totally one-dimensional, the documentary equivalent of a gossip column. Its aim is to highlight how inept the Nazis were, but they were nothing of the sort - they were an evil, fearsome enemy. The theme of the series does not tally with the known facts, save that of course the Nazis ultimately lost the war.

fact challenged dribble

12 mins in and I'm ready to give up. Except for the footage, I didn't really want to watch any more of it. Not sure where these so-called scholars interviewed come from but their knowledge of wwii seems pretty limited. If this was produced in 1975, I'd probably not be offended but c'mon. The non-agression pact was signed in august 39 and just a few weeks later, germany invaded poland from the west and the russians invaded poland from the east. Clearly they had intentions to divide poland though during and after the war the american press underplayed the soviet's role. Two years later germany invaded the rest of poland and russia but not before massing huge amounts of personnel and equipment along the polish frontier. When the germans were asked why, they replied that it was necessary to keep this material and men away from british bombers, though at that time, the british didn't have dominance in the air over europe or mastered precision bombing. It's impossible to say what stalin thought of hitler exactly but after the invasion, it's been reported that stalin was incredulous that hitler would invade that he became almost unhinged to the point of not being able to make any decisions in the early days. From all eyewitness accounts at the time, and contrary to the film, stalin probably thought he had in hitler a familiar associate in thought, perspective, and actions. That's just one of many mistakes in the series. Yes, I did watch it all but only for the footage.

Repetitive and questionable.
chrisfoxy30 December 2022
This is not a good show and Netflix shoukd drop it immediately. I am no expert but some of the facts seem to be very questionable. Dates where major events happened etc. There are some respected historians commentating on this show bit I would.imagine if they looked back, they would be very annoyed at how the final cut of the show was presented.

Also, the footage and commentary is repeated at nauseum to try and drag this out over 4 episodes. It could have easily been all condensed into a single 1 hour show without losing any information theybare trying to get across.

Not in the same league as World War 2 in Colour.

Don't bother watching it.

low quality

The mini-series explain how dumb the Nazis were and how their critical decisions were wrong.

However, WW2 lasted for five years, and they almost succeeded with the extension of Jews. After that, the whole continent was utterly down - it doesn't seem the outcome of many incompetents.
