The hugely bittersweet moment between Peter and the general. This episode is a huge tipping point for all protagonists, it seems. Peter having transferred fatherly feelings into Velementov feels appropriate, as he was not well liked by his parents as a child, and it builds parallel with the narrative of his loneliness. The writers understood even the most cartoony of characters needs a grounding moment here and there. Again, praise to the director Duentes for this stand out episode. It almost has the vibes of being bottled, but episodes of The Great are oft to take place solely inside the palace walls.

Stunning episode

Great acting from everyone, especially the leads who had some intense psychological "stuff" to deal with. And even with all the drama, there were still LOL moments. And the end credits song was a great touch. I had to run to tunefind to find out the song is "Don't Give Up" by the Noisettes. Why haven't I heard about this great band?!! Anyway, the song was totally appropriate and rocking.
