The show has no right to be as good as it is going into a 9th season. The past few episodes have been strong, but this one...my god. Dark as hell, but so well acted & superbly directed. Plus, it advances the story which is so much better than prolonging it. Top tier.

SOOOO GOOD

Honestly, my favorite episode of the series. This episode kept you on your toes the entire time! That ending was so intense and it was giving me the chills. I really wish I could give it 105,000 stars, but 10 is all I have, so that will have to do. Really amazing episode. Cannot wait to see how they continue it next week!
Hailey is the best

It was a really good and dark, depressive episode. I loved it.
Tracy Spiridakos (Hailey Upton) is amazing in this character.
The whole season was great, but this episode was the best so far. I think Hailey is the best character in the show.
Can't wait to see the remaining episodes in the season.

So dark and intense

This was so dark and intense, the case, the character storyline, everything was great. And I looove Hailey, best character IMO (along with Voight). The show keeps having the best raitings, not surprising, considering the content. CPD is the best police drama I've ever seen. It's a pity the procedurals are so underrated, because Tracy Spiridakos truly deserves an award for that performance, hell of an actress, PD and the whole One Chicago is so lucky to have her.
The Curse Of The Voight Strikes Again

Warning: Spoilers
Wherein someone (Upton) that he has pulled into his world is struggling to cope with the result of their actions, and it's affecting all areas of their life.
I did see a bit of light at the end of Upton's tunnel when Halstead confessed to his guilty secret from Afghanistan, in the previous ep,but she bottled out of telling him, only to have him find out anyway in this ep.
The song playing in my head watching this ep was "Back Down" by Bob Moses. Very apt lyrics.

Let me explain. The woman playing Hailey is a great actress. That I will give you. But she is a terrible police person.
Why, after all these weeks is the shooting she did still bothering her? WHY ?
First the situation with her and Voight didn't have to happen. Voight could have said that he tried to arrest the guy and the bad guy attacked him. They got into a fight. That is how the guy got bloody. Then he subdued him and handcuffed him.
After that Hailey showed up. As he was taking the cuffs off the criminal grabbed Voights gun and was going to shoot him. Which is exactly what happened.
So Hailey, shot him in self defense protecting her partner. Which is what she did.
A clean shoot, without a cover up.
Now back to Hailey. Again WHY is this bothering her so much? The guy wasn't innocent was he ? Of course not. He killed at least 5 people we know of. Four were young girls tied up. So why all the remorse and sympathy over a cold blooded killer. Oh , yea, he killed the Superintendents son also . See why is killing this scumbag bother her so much.
First the guy was a murderer , and second it was a good shoot. She was protecting her boss from getting shot.
So that is why I hate her character.
One last thing. In her mind would it have been better for the guy to shoot and kill Voight first before she shot him? Would that have made her feel better?
Now you know why I say this woman should never be a cop .
