Okay fake documentary from Nick
lor_29 November 2010
Supposedly still under the spell of the high-grossing MONDO CANE, Nick Millard released the porno travelogue PLEASURE SPOTS. Because he had the nasty habit of not putting credits on his films, its authorship remains a question mark.

As usual, it is shot as a Silent Film, with narration, only this time in place of the usual purple-prose "sensual" femme voice-over we have a male narrator who is all-business, giving us the history of the locations visited, including Reno, Lake Tahoe, Monterey and Carmel. As usual with these DVD reissues, the box cover packaging is intentionally misleading, this time spotlighting cover girl Isadora Edison/Alisha Angel, known for her starring role in Joe Sarno's final opus SUBURBAN SECRETS, but probably not born yet when PLEASURE SPOTS was shot.

Road movie shots show us scenic Nevada and California, with first stop a welcome appearance by Sandy Carey as a Lake Tahoe call girl. She's not supposed to be acting, but the real thing, a tipoff that the whole film is phony. She entertains a high roller with a stogie who hopes that she will help him get his luck back, and we have to endure some truly corny old jokes in his contribution to the voice-over.

Sandy's voice-over sounds a bit like her real voice, though one suspects that somebody else was hired to narrate during post-production. Her masturbation plus his groping are stronger than X but probably considered less than XXX by whoever determines the hardcore demarcation line. Nick's shoe & foot fetish has Sandy massaging the John's groin with her foot, then he kisses her shoes and she even spanks him with a high-heeled shoe! Another favorite porn star Lynn Harris has a lesbian scene with another girl named Jane in Carson City, including a hardcore penetration scene involving a vibrator.

Sights of Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey present Bob and his two wives, celebrating polygamy. This troilism scene includes lesbian sex, a hard-on shown on screen and a hand-job, finally crossing the line with an explicit fellatio scene.

Carmel-by-the-Sea presents another phony segment, as we're presented a "private erotic dancer" who gives a show just for the film crew. She says in her voice-over: "Well Alan, I'm a 19-year-old striptease artist". Since Alan Sinclair directed SENTA for Nick around this time, one might infer from this dialog that he also directed PLEASURE SPOTS, but only Nick knows for sure.

She doesn't dance at all, but merely gets naked for the camera and ends the movie with a softcore sex scene involving one of the "documentary" crew members.

It all adds up to a pleasant enough porn travelogue, with the narrator signing off "Love and Peace" at the end.
