L'arrivée en voiture (1896)
This film from the Lumiere Brothers clocks in at just under a minute and shows a horse and buggy arriving in front of a house where people then come out and greet it. At less than a minute it's obvious that you shouldn't' expect any sort of plot or anything like that. These early "actuality" movies are a lot of fun to watch in my opinion because they give you a glimpse into the past. This one here gives you quite a bit to look at from the old-time buggy to the clothing that the people were wearing during this era. Being able to get a real look at 1896 is just fascinating to me and is the main reason these old movies remain so interesting today.
