Chester V? seriously? LOL
saull2815 May 2023
I couldn't believe the hilarious similarities, all over the scenes: the orange and white colors of the guy clothes and his building, the hand gestures, the hexagons in his Lab, the security challenge; everything was an indication of Chester V, in a bit ridiculous similar way, but it has a nice homage, only not really as good, just low budget instead of going more creative and closer to the whole Chester V looks. I guess TV series try to save as much in the FX Department as possible to maximize profits, but cheapness never helps, so it should be well done, in a classy way so it's worth it and looks good.

Awkward but Lovely Double Date
SourCandyOrNoCandy22 May 2022
The Chen-Bradford storyline was such a treatttt. Also, I need to make a list of Bones characters who are also on The Rookie. In this episode, we have Gil Bates from Boy in a Time Capsule. I got so excited when I saw him.

Best parts of the episode?

  • Bradford and Chen... obviously. The dinner scene was a awkward for everyone else, but for the two of them it was great. I love how well they know each other. Alsooo, did we notice how close they were in that scene where they were deciding what to do? Yes please.

  • The case was actually fascinating. I really enjoyed everything about it. The severed hand, Chen and Bradford going up against Chester and ___

  • ADA Chris is so cuteee. At first I was annoyed at the fact that they keep giving Bradford and Chen different love interests since they obviously have so much chemistry, but I love both Ashley and Chris, so it's fine.

  • Positive Nyla was hilarious. It feels like a version of the storyline they did with Talia but in a better way. That scene when she called him the best cop in the city was hilarious.

  • It's always a treat to have Sergeant Grey in the field.

Worst parts of the episode?

  • Something is stopping me from giving this 10 stars but I'm not sure what. It was really, really good.

I like the way the date scene was at the beach it was a perfect fit for Lucy and Tim. I love the shell on the table and the flower were beautiful. Thank you for directing this episode.

Gets boring in season 4.
travinitrav24 January 2022
I dont know if the writers have run out of good ideas, dont care any more, or are under orders from the network to produce as boring a show as possible, but The Rookie just isnt like it used to be.

Nothing interesting happens any more. They just fumble around looking silly and sometimes not even acting like cops. It was better when things were completely new to them and they were experiencing the insanity of Los Angeles streets for the very first time. And the new rookie doesnt even make an appearance here. He's gone with no explanation. Not that he was terribly interesting to begin with. They should probably find a new direction in which to take the show. Maybe find a new batch of rookies, maybe give a trainee or mentee or protege to Nolan. Or maybe just end the show since they cant find a good rhythm any more. Nylas drama with her daughter was kind of interesting. What happened with that? Nolan making rookie mistakes and learning lessons was probably the best aspect of the show. Now its all over.

Boring
igicd24 January 2022
Season 4 is just bad as they come and this episode is just confirming that. I loved season 1 & 2. Character's where good and the premise around rookie coops was just exelant story telling. Now it's just about politics and there isn't any story progresing, just random stuff with no bits transfering into other bits. First two season, this was one of my favorite shows with 9/10 rating, now it's barely 4. Either end the show after this or go back to your roots.

Headed Downhill Again

The first 2 seasons were good, a cop show we could relate to with drama and humor and it was entertaining. Season 3 dove deep into politics and went the way of liberal Hollywood, driving people away, making us angry, and no longer entertaining. We considered not watching anymore. The season 4 began with most of the politics gone and we thought that maybe they learned something from the slide in viewers, and it was OK for a while, but now, not so much. This episode brought back the politics full force. Maybe they just can't learn and this show is done.

Can This Show Get More Dumb??
supermodelyum22 March 2022
Tune in next week for the big reveal. (Spoiler alert: It seems to be following that trajectory rapidly)

There's nothing logical, reasonable or accurate about this show.

In this ridiculous episode....

Chen's psudo-psychological insights are irritating. No cop I know would listen to that garbage all day at work. - No person at ANY JOB would entertain her condescending, self-absorbed meddling. She's not representative of police. (She eats off Tim's plate ????) Ugh She's like a pathetic high school dweeb.

If writers don't know that Downtown LA cops DON'T cover Santa Monica beaches, they're idiots. If they do, then they think the viewers are idiots. (Ya'll take your pick)

As for the Italian cop..... They just took his word that he was a cop without checking his background??? ( Good to know next time someone wants to impersonate a cop!) Besides which, foreign cops don't have a right to carry weapons in the US. - It's not even legal to carry a weapon from another state into California, so pleeeeeaaaasssseee.

This show is no longer about a "Rookie". It's become the same bottom-feeding soap opera plot point and relationship drama that has become a joke to anyone with an education or brain.

Season 1 was great. But it's time to cancel this garbage.
