sh*t movie
phat_nam9 May 2011
Wish i could give it a lesser score... but unfortunately i have to give a whopping 1 for this shocking film.

calling an RX7 a MX5/MX7 which is totally a different car, the rx7 seems to some how magically transform into a s14, which repeats the same drift scene 500 billion times.

The producers could have put a little more effort into making this film.

Absolutely shocking.

They seem to have no clue about what they're talking about.

Those crash scenes are worse than need for speed graphics.

actors are shocking. watching this was the biggest waste of time.

I registered just to write a review before someone else becomes a victim of this sh*t movie.

Spoiler Alert
cursealoud5 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Questions:

1.Since when does someone keep a car that was carrying drugs and seized by police?

2.When did they make a Skyline with the steering wheel on the Left?

3.When did a RX7 turn into a 240sx?

4.When did a MX5 turn into a RX7?

5.When did a stock Nissan 350zx cost $80K?

6.When did a Skyline have the same specs as a Nissan 350zx?

7.When did a LA Helicopter fly through a tunnel and race car crashes become CG?

8.So his mom and his GF were strippers that worked at the same club? Great family values

9.So his mom asked her boss to tell the drug dealer to stop coming in there and spending thousands of dollars because he was in race car accident w/ her son?

10.When did the drug deal(Casey) kill the brother? I might have missed that while I was laughing through the movie. I only saw the brother lose control of his 35K 350zx(not 80K)and crash, so how was he killed by the drug dealer?

11.How many times are they going to show the same drift scene with a 200sx that was never mentioned.

12.Who drew those 3rd grade drawings?

13.When the doctor comes out and says they had to remove her spleen...why did they ask if she was gonna live? I thought a 5th grade knew that you can live without your spleen and tonsils.

In the beginning the mechanic(Kelly) lifted his hood and said "you messed with the timing." How did she know that by popping the hood? Secondly, she adjusted the timing in 2 seconds on a rotary engine...how is that possible?

His GF wrecks her motorcycle after being chased and runs a marathon as if she never crashed her bike. There's no rips in her jeans or leather coat. Just as perfect as it was when she left the club. Then she kicks and knocks down this muscular dealer as if he weighs 150lbs. After the whole ordeal...he still wants his lap dance and she gives it to him(WTF). Then she hits him again as if this is something new.

All I can say is fire the guy that green lit this movie.

WORSE MOVIE EVER!.....EVER!!! Could not be worse if it tried
psi-753-1815553 May 2011
I will be the first to tell you how incredibly bad this "movie" is. I watched it with no expectations so when it was over I wasn't upset with how horrible this movie was! The actors are weak at their best point when they can remember a line. The cars, what you really see of them are OK, there's only 3 or 4 so don't get excited. Although I am a little offended where the people who made this "car" movie didn't think anyone would notice a green RX7 turn into a green 240SX S14. Also one of the main cars is a SKYLINE GTR, not a GTR. Skylines were RHD. This one was not. It pisses me off when people make car movies for car people and think that we wont notice details. The car chases and crashes look like clips from need for speed, but not as good. I know every car nut is gonna watch this movie anyway because it looks like a Fast & Furious type movie. Which I guess it is on $1000 budget at most. I gave this 1/10 because that was the lowest I could go, more like .5/10. So watch if you have absolutely nothing to do, and I mean nothing and write a review.

Bad movie, errors, really bad CG. Warning: Spoilers
Not only is the acting very poor, but the story is so make-believe, it's as if the mind of a child wrote the script from their imaginary friends and daydreams.

The CG is extremely bad. The cars, while in CG, move in a completely unrealistic manner. The way the cars when in CG move and crash have no real physics involved. Not only their movement, but after the 370Z crashes, it looks like a plasticine model someone dropped on the ground, rather than a car that has barrel rolled down the street.

Enough ranting you say? I wish that's all I had to say. They went from a 2nd generation RX-7 to a Nissan 240SX S14, all the while calling it an MX-5! The MX-5 is a Mazda Miata. It's not either of the cars showcased! This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, much less the worst of 2011. If you want to see a car movie, re-watch Fast and the Furious - it's better than wasting your money to watch this awful movie in the theatre. I am rarely this harsh on any movie, but this one deserves every bit.

This Movie Sucks, The acting, The quality, The story which is nonexistent, ALL TERRIBLE
Bigwillyz2114 May 2011
This Movie Sucks, The acting, The quality, The story which is nonexistent, ALL TERRIBLE!! Holy crap if I can save you one hour and a half movie session this would be it. I have actually loved some movies that people gave bad reviews so I have a very broad spectrum of acceptance when it comes to movies. This one on the other hand I could have filmed with my cell phone at a McDonald's parking lot. It's just crap, they just took what every other racing movie had and tried to copy them with no effects and crappy actors. I don't know what else I could possibly tell you to describe what this is not going to do for you.

Worst excuse for a movie.
boris-fedorov145 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Throughout the years, people have been entertained with shitty car movies in the late 90's up until now.

We've had some good ones, and we've had some awful ones. Till today, I was sure that Redline was the worst car movie ever made. Oh how wrong was I.

To sum it up, This movie utilized some of the worst CGI effects for cars, along with some of the worst acting. Domingo or whatever the hell his name is, couldn't remember his lines, the mechanic chick sucks at drawing (LOL), the Main character uses nitrous around a turn? What is he a full on retard?

Misinformation was very prevalent. A 370z would never keep up with a GTR on the streets... Ever. 2 completely different types of cars. Then, by some stupid magic, the 370z turns into a 350Z. Thats cool. It's probably a Datsun thing.

If i could give it a -10, I would. Nitrous wouldn't ever make a car that weighs 2400 pounds lift up in the sky and into a 2 story building. Maybe the writers of the story were inhaling too much nitrous while writing the script.

balls.

Worst movie ever......
mattvan878 May 2011
Wow, words cannot describe how bad this movie was. It is bar none, the worst movie I have ever seen and I am so glad I watched it! My friends and I couldn't stop laughing, if you know anything about cars, heck anything about real life, this pathetic movie will have you rolling for days.

It's so awesome because the movie is SO BAD it gives you a great perspective how even movies like Gigli aren't that bad.

This is THE worst movie I have ever watched, and I highly recommend people watch it, just for the experience alone.

This movie should never be forgotten, to any director or actor out there, if you are down on yourself about a bad movie or scene, watch this movie, it should put the idea of a bad scene or movie in a whole new light.

Trying to get it done like Fast & the Fureious
malikfawad4 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Well, the Movie as when the title has started ... was looking a master piece ... , but all the accidents and real action events were FAKE and that led this Movie a flop and substandard ...., if some funds could be utilized to make this movie ... that would have been a good one ...

Besides the story script and sequence was also irrelevant mostly, like there are dialogs which were not necessary to be used..., so ,,, i would rather say ... Don't WATCH IT ...

It should not be rated as ONE 1, even ..... out of 10...

Ending was good like nice and not arrogant.. but again .. COMPUTER EFFECTS WERE USED AND still extremely low level and low budget movie ...

Weak storyline, bad acting, Atari graphics for car scenes
solarmatrix14 May 2011
The computer graphics in the car scenes were so bad for a movie made this year that it totally disrupted me from the scene content itself because i was laughing so much! You will see that in some parts of the movie it looks literally like the movie cuts to someone playing a bad computer simulation. to top it off bad acting, weak characters and simple and stupid car tech talk that would have been better left unsaid. This is how it is, I too joined just to comment on how bad this movie is. If you want a cool car flick - then run the other direction. If you like to laugh at recycled crap pull up a very comfortable couch you may wake up 7 hours later if you don't have the option to fast forward.

Not a car lovers movie
bradleymathie2 June 2011
While this maybe a movie for some people, it will not be enjoyed or loved by anyone who follows the fast and furious or any real racing/driving movie for that matter.

Along with acting, the characters are clearly fresh from b grade TV shows or other sources which required the ability to talk.

Using every trick they can to try and get some enjoyment, your dealing with strippers telling their sons to have a real life. People quoting "did i stutter" along with every other possible rip of they can use.

When they need to use 3d graphics just to make a car come to a halt.

This movie is not really suited for a single audience... using nudity means it will not work even for younger children who might not see the flaws..

When making a car movie, make it about the cars.. make the actors appear to know what a boost setup is... not just them saying 50 psi... nos, springs.

This movie will hurt any true car fan, as this is the only reason i have joined IMDb to warn others of this movie.

Notable Junk:

  • Motor bike chase, how she comes off and runs....

  • CG Crashes or even simple "car stopping" needed CG?

  • Car talk, Britney spears could do it better

CG,,,, this is not even 3d studio max or anything on that level, the 3d used barely had texture rendering little alone any other effects... default gloss with nothing beyond a few 100 poly per model.

***CAR STOLEN DURING PRODUCTION*** Really..... think about this.... what does this say about the movie in general. little alone other things.

bad screenplay, bad casting, bad directing & bad acting
rightwingisevil29 March 2012
this movie amazed me so much that i really don't know how to start my review and even wondered if it worths people to write reviews.

first of all, the poor casting and the poor screenplay: both sons looked already over 20 yrs old, the elder brother even looked like reached the 30s, and their mother was still a stripper, a so-called exotic dancer in a strip nightclub? so lets figure out how it was possible that her 2nd son was eligible for a high school graduate applying for college? so suppose it was as the screenplay described, if her 2nd son was 18 yrs old, when did she have the first son? and her first son almost looked reaching 30.....well, unless she had her 1st son when she was 13 and had her 2nd son when she was....eh....well, 16? otherwise how could you accept that she was still able to do the job as a strip dancer? with two son looked and acted like in the 30 and 25, no matter how she tried, she'd in the age of 45 or 55, might hold the world record as the oldest striper still working every night.

this poor screenplay could even okayed into production only meant: the screenplay writer(s), the director and the producers didn't even know what the racing cars should be. they didn't even know what is what, just wanted to fool people to believe their movie was in the same genre and same level of 'fast and furious' or other less superior car racing movies. but it's not, it's pure garbage.

and as for the acting? well, one word to nail the coffin tight: 'horrible'! and i just wish that most of the actors in this movie would leave the movie industries asap, 'cause there's definitely no future in it, especially those two guys who played the brothers. they were just horrible to watch.

nothing worth reviewing further, kinda wasting time. i rest my case.

Riviting tale of family, friendship, love, and revenge
dsb-1619014 June 2017
This movie had me sitting on the edge of my seat, the spot on car specs, the carefully thought out well placed quotes, the amazing car race scenes. You almost can't tell that half of this movie is cgi, and you definitely can't tell that the car the main character is driving changes while in the middle of a drift multiple times. For anyone looking for an action packed thriller, this is a must see!

NOT Fast Five,But much better than a speeding ticket !
guestar5726 May 2011
Starring: Paul Logan & Janet T. Keijser. Directed by: Cole McKay. Pretty amazing effort at trying to steal the thunder of Fast Five. There was an actual story here about a man and his brother,Then the girlfriend and the mom have a journey to tell. The cars are realistic to having the power to race around downtown Burbank. Seems CGI is used for some of the trickier scenes,Like car crashes ,Etc… Paul Logan is playing a Bad Cop in this film and although believable as evil,Not something we want to see again. Janet Keijser adds to some unique scenes,When she plays the heroes mom as a stripper and hero has a girlfriend working at the same strippers club,Ummm… Ewwww ! Director is Cole McKay a stuntman's legend and possible shows what stunts are accomplished on a budget.

Lack of Passion for the scene totally ruins this movie!
Griffon095 June 2011
This movie actually has a lot of things going for it. A good hero car, an antagonist who appears quite untouchable in the R35, hot girls, and even a decent plot line.

The things which it doesn't have in it's corner are cheap special affects, lame writing, and b-movie casting. But even these things can be overlooked and the movie could have been enjoyable if it weren't for one huge flaw.

The attention to detail. Anyone who is into the import scene will want to literally scream at the blatant disregard and respect for the import scene. Here are just a few mistakes I can think of off the top of my head.

The 370z's specs and stats are completely wrong as is the price. While driving to the first race scene the older brother's car magically becomes an R35. The antagonist R35 has the same specs as the 370z's, nearly word for word.During the race between the older brother and the antagonist they are constantly overtaking each other, but it doesn't show when or where this happened. When the brother crashes he is now in a 350z, not a 370z. When the girl mechanic brings her "blueprints" for what she wants to do to the FD RX-7, it literally looks like a child from pre-school drew them. Why the hell would she show that trash? And the hero is all like "this'll work," LOL! While talking about the hero car and also in the junkyard they refer to the hero car as an MX-5, then when he visits the Mexican gang leader it's an RX-7. 8. The hero ask "can I take a look at it," referring to the crashed RX7 the Mexican gang leader has. He then lift up the tarp from the front of the car, looks for 3 seconds, and then says "well the NOS system is still intact." Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Where the hell was the thing canister mounted? On the bumper? No wonder his car fell apart! While testing the RX7, the hero goes from an RX& to a 240sx with the same color pant. I mean really, thought you would slip that one by us huh?

Overall it's just a simple lack of attention to detail, and more over any care for the final product. The movie is awful, and I can't believe a movie company would release something this unpolished. Whoever made this movie should never be allowed to make another one, because from what I saw they just don't care about their own vision. Maybe working in the mailroom is more up their alley.

Poor made movie, but not given enough credit
h_sut_lover8 June 2011
The CG is awful, the acting isn't all that good (for the most part.

The filmography is actually decent; I don't know anyone who could reproduce this movie with a $1000 budget. (I am a credentialed photographer for Formula Drift)

THE BAD:

-Since when is the RX7 called an MX5?

-Why does the green RX7 turn into a green S14?

-How is a 350Z an $80K car? Or even close to stock reach speeds of 190+? (sorry for not quoting here)

How on earth can you expect it to take on a GTR? (At least they were correct on what it was)

So basically, this movie sucks if you are a car person. And you probably won't be watching this if you aren't... But it's not like a bunch of kids just thew this together.

horrible, but worth it
sebastian-495-91089831 March 2014
This movie is horrible on all levels. The story sucks, the animations for crashes and spinouts are absolutely terrible, the acting reeks, and even the driving during the races are sucky. BUT it is worth watching. This movie is entertaining on a sarcastic level. 200 mph is so bad that its fun to watch. All the cars are junkies, lemons, ricers, whatever you would call it, except the GTR. Even though almost every car racing movie has a GTR. I doubt that the people who wrote the script and chose the cars actually knew anything about them. The numbers and statistics that they were talking about were way off. For example, 180?? no way. The GTR can max out near 211. In fact during the entire movie, not one car or person came close to 200 miles per hour. This film is a Sunday night, a long day at work, hiding under the desk at school, and an airport layover movie. Not worth watching in any kind of theater. Although it is most entertaining because the mess ups and inconsistencies are so obvious. Not a good movie but it was amusing.

So bad I had to turn it off
vylegend8 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I cannot express how bad this movie is. It looked like it had a budget of about twenty bucks plus I'm not sure if any of the actors had any acting experience whatsoever. The only good actor (the brother of the main character) dies about 15 minutes into the movie and it just goes downhill from there.

The acting really lets this film down. I kept thinking "if these scenes were acted out better then this movie would be awesome." I guess it's downfall was the low budget, I believe the script might have looked OK on paper.

The bad actors that really stood out were the mum and the really lame crooked cop that seemed to have anger management problems but I wasn't ever convinced of his power. The audience rarely feels threatened by the antagonist here.

I would go on and on, but there's one bottom line. Do not watch this movie, Just don't watch it. It's so bad.

LOL!!!!!!

Anyways this "movie" is so bad. From the plot (If there really is one), to the very bad acting, and the fact the same different scene is shot well over enough. If you need a good laugh, then this is the movie for you. (I didn't go deep into it because every other review already did that)

Where do I begin...

Warning: Spoilers
This is the worst movie I have ever seen, its so bad that I think the director did it on purpose. The rx7 turning into a 240sx was priceless. If you want to laugh, then watch this movie. Mega Piranna people must have made this movie too, same quality and sh*t computer generated scenes.

If this movie had a face, I would punch it. Its an insult to anyone that knows anything about cars, even a novist mx5 is a miata, not a 2nd gen rx7 mx7 not sure what that is, some retard forgot his line if I had to guess ground effects don't make a car faster..i wanted to puke Mexican guy drug dealer...priceless also

also the same drift scene shown 99 times, give us a break. this director should never make another movie again

Incredibly bad is being kind
TheLittleSongbird2 November 2013
Even with low or no expectations, 200 M.P.H manages to have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It is a very cheap-looking film, the editing is choppy and at times incomprehensible and the CGI effects are some of the worst of any movie I've seen, while the sound is muddled and the soundtrack manages to be both overbearing and repetitive. The dialogue is cheesy and banality at its worst, not helped by line delivery that is either flat or like the actors keep forgetting their lines(you can tell by the sluggish and awkward pacing of it). The story is so thin to the point of being non-existent and has no momentum or cohesion, while the car sequences have no excitement or fire and hindered further by the worst editing in the whole movie and effects so awful it begs belief. Much has been said about the ridiculous errors there are, and there's enough to make the largest Stephen King book seem comparatively short, and to the extent of a clear indication of the writers not doing any kind of research. It insults the intelligence, and that's even for those who are not as big an expert on cars as others, and credibility is next to nothing. Others have said that they feel like the same scene over again, and actually that is true. The movie does try to disguise it by using different cars each time but it doesn't work, you'll be shocked at how obvious it is. The direction has no style or character, in fact was there any direction here, and the acting especially from the leads is incredibly amateurish. The forgetting-of-lines-quality is just one of the problems, the complete lack of charisma, lack of chemistry and lack of involvement are just as bad. Overall, incredibly bad and even that doesn't cut the irredeemable awfulness that is 200 M.P.H. O/10(the lowest rating of all the movies I've seen in the past 4 months or so, mainly because of the effort of cutting down the times this rating has been given which actually is not very often with this viewer). Just...don't
lar198713 May 2013
I could do a better movie with my Hot Wheels and Barbies. The plot was so full of holes, it looked like swiss cheese. Where was the advertised Datsun 280Z? Netflix's summary boasted of it, and a revenge theme, which was totally lost. No one did 200 mph. The facts about cars were totally off, you should have at least had a mechanic or 13 year-old car nut on the production staff. The garage was in the "ghetto"...but was stocked and clean. The RX-7 in the garage was a far better car than what the protagonist used in racing...why was it not utilized?? The CGI cars were worse than Need For Speed. If you want a better film, I recommend Pixar's Cars. I could go on, but it'd be a waste of time, like the movie.

Not great, but worth checking out.
deckx-51-67527811 May 2011
First up let me just say this movie is incredibly flawed. Some parts of the movie, the editing is just way off. Some of the actors, especially the lead, the lead chick, and the mom had inconsistencies with their acting. In some scenes, they really shine whereas in others, I feel the direction was just off. The dude who plays Kayce, the antagonist of the film, is fun to watch but is never really established as a credible threat thanks to a pointless cat and mouse chase between him and the lead chick. Some scenes had really poor writing where you notice the characters tend to go in circles as far as conversation. I'm not sure whether that's the writer's fault or the actors not having their lines memorized.

But aside from those criticisms, this is a fun movie to watch. For a street-racing film it has a lot of heart and puts so much value in family and friendships. The lead guy has a great family and a posse whose got his back, made up of a hot mechanic, the funny token Asian guy, and another wacky guy to round out his group.

As an action film, don't expect F&F status, don't forget this is a low budget film made by the guys that did Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. Big budget action films take many months to film, while low budget ones like these take like a month, maybe even just days. And for a low budget feature, it works. The cars and the chase scenes are cool and all female characters are strippers. Except one. But don't worry, she's the hot mechanic chick.

The "best" worst film ever
fd-davehill30 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Quite simply, if you like cars and street racing you have to watch this film. It's hilarious! The acting is laughable, the CGI is amateurish, the continuity is possibly amongst the worst in the history of movie making. You cannot help but laugh at how bad this film is. I don't think I can add anything else to what other reviews have said, but just watch the film, from start to finish if you can, and you'll see what I mean. Its one of those films that when you watch it, you have to watch it again with your mates to see their reaction, its that laughable. I don't want to give too much away because it'll spoil your fun, but look out for the metamorphosis of the green Mazda RX 7, its genius

Is this a parody of Fast and Furious?
russianswimmer15 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Even if it is, I have never seen a movie worse then this one. Car chases and car crashes looked better on Pentium II playing need for speed 1, in 1998!! The guy who made this movie should be banned from film industry. I wouldn't watch the movie even if it was free.. Watching paint dry is an Extreme Sport if you think this film is good. How did this get released??? Driving background scenes repeat like in a cartoon! The cop using a radio from RadioShack to talk to other cops! The same cars come out from different corners in the same scene at the same time! Mazda rx-7 somehow turns Nissan 200 sx s14 in a matter of seconds!!!

P.S. I ONLY registered at IMDb to warn others about this movie. Stay away from it!!! The worst movie ever. I even tried to think of a movie worse then this, but I couldn't.

So awful, I spent the movie laughing my *$^ off
fireblazer66629 December 2013
0/10 ... The only value this movie has is in the fact that it's so awful it's hilarious, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't "meant to be"...

Anyone saying this movie is good/great, probably secretly worked on the movie... because it's almost impossible to make a movie worse than this...

This is far worse than the Japanese drift series of movies called "Drift", of which I own like 8 or 9 of... at least their scenes are real, not CGI... even though they just speed up the video, ha-ha...

The acting is HORRIBLE

Most race/crash scenes are CGI and look so fake, I'm pretty sure a child could do better...

The girl who they try to make seem knowledgeable sound about cars sounds hilariously stupid... somehow she changed tho timing in about 1-2 seconds on a rotary engine?? what the... it's like they aren't even trying...

The story could be kind of entertaining if it had a big budget... good actors etc... and the music was okay... but this movie was absolute *^%$... Fast Five was 10 times better easily... and this doesn't compare even remotely to Fast and the Furious movies...

I could go on and on about the flaws, the bull..lingo about cars... the blatant ignorance of car knowledge by whoever wrote this... the awful wording of the dialogue... along with the bad acting... bloody heck this movie was awful... though I had a lot of fun making fun of it...
